From personal experience, what is the shortest time you managed to get some good, steady traffic from search engines only ?
I find it hard to get good amount of visitors from SE after 2months and around 40 articles. I get around 100 impressions a day, but my niche is specific, tech reviews.

What is a "good" amount of traffic is a personal opinion.

In my opinion it is more about the time I put in versus the traffic I get. If I put in a few hours of work and get 100 uniques a day I'm happy with that. If I put in a full week or two producting a site and get 100 uniques a day I would not be happy.

    It's all personal opinion.

about an average? 20-30 (good) backlinks (that stay alive), and 10-20 articles (that get accepted)...should break you into the 100+ a day zone.

and if the site has an affiliate program? the # links can be very high, and the traffic can be 2-300.

this can take 2-6 months though, and keep in mind that google will not list a site well until the domain is over 6 months old.

this is still hard sometimes as the site's 'topic' may not be all that popular.

i think your conversion rate should be considered as the important factor.... quality over quantity...

no point getting a 1000 visitors if only 1 converts as opposed to getting 50 visitors and 5 converting.... you see what im getting at....

sorry rhino i have to disagree with you on this one.... the time scale can be a lot less than this... for proper organic listings it really depends on your competition, as an owner of an seo company we would be out of business if we had to wait 6 months to get our clients listed at the top of google

    Results I have found

First blog. No linking strategy, 6 weeks to get indexed, 2 posts per day, 4 months on 20 visitors.

Second blog. Ezine, Squidoo, AC and blog commenting. Hosted on blogger with my own domain. 2 posts per day. Indexed in 3 days. 3 months on I get 150 visitors per day.

Third blog. Have not started yet but I am learning youtube is the next thing to add to my ingredients list.
