Is it worth building shorten urls on T1 or T2?
If so, what value does it bring?
People used to feel that it provided a "buffer" of authority that kept the sites it pointed at safer. For instance they would be nervous about blasting their T1 web2.0 with GSA so they would wrap the Web2.0 in shorteners and then blast those. Frankly it USED to really be effective, but like many thinks it got abused and is less effective (but arguably still holds some value) today.
I recommend using URL shorteners mostly in this way: Wrap a T1 link in a shortener, have a social media influencer on Twitter tweet it, then get that authority twitter account tweet re-tweeted a couple hundred times or more. This is something I use for INDEXING.
