How do i change the meta description?

<meta name="keywords" content="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" />
<meta name="description" content="YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" />

thats in my index file.
How do i change the "YYYYYYY..." using the wordpress admin menu?

I've tried all of that and nothing seems to be working.

You wanna hardcode your meta tags?
If that is the case have a look in the header.php file of your template.
