What's up everyone. About a month ago I quit my job to enter into internet marketing full time, I already have a source of side income so I thought why not, I'm in my early 20s now and also figured this would be the best age to start my business.

Anyway I come from a country (Malaysia) where the currency is very low and making even a little bit of USD is more than enough to exceed the average salary for university graduates here. (500USD a month), living costs are also relatively low here which inspires me even more.

I've been spending a few weeks setting everything up now from my ecommerce websites to my social media accounts. I thought it'd be a good idea to continue this journey here to share it with people who are doing something similar, and hopefully get some motivation and advice as well.

Well, so far what I've done/have:

-2 Complete ecommerce sites with a professional design and catalog that is expanding daily. 1 is in a highly specific niche and the other is more of a general store.

    - 4 Instagram/Twitter/pinterest accounts and bots.

-domains to redirect from social media accounts to my main website.

For the general store, each category will have its own domain name redirect and instagram/twitter/pintrest account.

My plan is to use a bot (mass planner) to get followers and engagement on the social media accounts which will lead to SALES.

    To do list, today.

Since I've only just finished setting up the websites. I will now be adding pictures and posts to my instagram, twitter and pinterest accounts before I start following people.

    Question

To anyone who's used social media for instagram, I would really appreciete your advice, is it okay to have a instagram page with only product posts and fewer content posts? As I want to set things as quickly as possible, once I list at least 50% of my catalog on the pages I will start following people.

    Current Focus

My main focus now is to start growing my social media accounts and see how the traffic performs. I will also be testing elements of my websites' design (trust badges, call to action, description) to see how I can optimize my conversion rate.

    Conclusion

My goal is start to selling daily and eventually work my way up to $400 a day by increasing my catalog, categories and social media accounts.

I will be updating this journey whenever any progress has been made. I would greatly appreciete any advice from senior members and hope to learn as much as I can.

    Stay tuned!

Are you paying two shopify stores ?
And what do you means domains to redirect to your main domains.
Like on your bio you have "www.randomname.com" and when they click, they are in "www.yourstore.com" ?

Are you two stores linked with the product ? Like the first for gardening and the other for water splasher for gardens ?

    Thank you for answering :)

Hi friend, yes Im paying for 2 shopify stores. One is very specific so I only need one instagram/twitter/pinterest account for that. Both are completely seperate niche.

For the general one, there are many categories. So if the main site is called diamonds.com and I have a category called bluediamonds, I will buy a unique domain name like http://www.bluediamonds.com to put on the social media accounts which will redirect back to diamonds.com

Thanks man, very happy to know that.

Hi Kluangman! Good to see a fellow Malaysian here haha

Thanks for the encouragement everyone, today's a good day. I've set up all 4 niches with my bot giving me a total 12 accounts (twitter, insta and pinterest.) Just a little more posting to do then the bots can start following people and finally get some traffic and hopefully coversions to my sites. It's almost 3am here, hopefully I can finish setting up the bots to start following by tomorrow!

    Yep Im shipping from Ali.

Been a bit of a delay cause I spent a lot of time making sure my website and my social accounts were absolutely good to go. So today is the first day the accounts from 3 of my niches finished following people on twitter and instagram. The fourth one will start following soon.

Twitter results are not good at all. Haven't tried pinterest yet. . The follow back results for instagram are pretty okay I guess, but not that many visits to my website and no sales yet. I'm using the same or very similar captions for every single picture so I wonder if that could be a problem.

    follow.jpg

Followers and following are both actually higher now but massplanners not updating the stats.

Its only the 1st day so maybe my expectations are a little too high so I'm gonna keep on posting and following for awhile more, then I'll start tweaking and testing different types of posts. I guess you really can't know what works until you test.

Haha, man I am running my shopify thing as well, only launched it a few days ago, promoted it on facebook myself because my ad account is blocked. Its all going good and stuff, 1 person even added my product to their cart and reached the checkout, but changed his mind apparently haha, still... gave me lots of motivation to keep pushing.

I am using instagram as well, it is not working good, but its very convenient because u can use hashtags to target the exact audience that you want. Still, 90% of my traffic comes from facebook. I think instagram converts poorly because most people browse instagram on their phones and they're really not in the mood to shop or browse stores.

Haha nice man. I also had people adding things to the cart but end up changing their minds. 2 times in fact, gives me motivation to push on too. Yeah, I'm going to piece together a facebook campaign too and see how that works out. Hope you don't mind me asking but how are you promoting on facebook if your ad account is blocked? Groups?

That bein said, there's no harm doing the instagram thing, if anything its a free source of traffic fully on autopilot thanks to the bot. I'm going to try a different type of instagram caption, basically put my own username in the description and tell people to click on that to find my website link which I think could increase clickthrough rate especially if you have people among your audience who are less tech savvy. The follow back rates have actually gotten pretty good and people are starting to dm me.

I've got my own facebook page where I share my products. I also type in my product in the search bar and pick most recent posts related to it and leave a link to my product. So far it was working, but it's obviously a lot of work and it is not the most efficient way. I am working on getting my ad account unblocked.

So after implementing some changes to my instagram accounts. Traffic and clickthrough rates actually increased even with my bots not following too aggresively. Even got some traffic from twitter, and you know what, although no one has bought anything yet, lots of people are putting things into the cart. So I must be doing something right, I'm going to play around with some cart apps to see how I can turn these cart adds into conversions.

Time to scale up too, with instagram I guess its mostly a numbers game, so more accounts and more niches = more traffic and most sales. I was feeling pretty dissapointed initially but now I got back my motivation.I can definitely make this work with a lil patience and creativity. Time will tell.

Hi, I'm from Indonesia... Low wage here too! XD

I'm doing shopify + pinterest btw. For the past 3 months this method has bring me $200/month. Still low, but considering the effort that I put (nearly zero effort), it's really worth it. I use bot to promote my instagram account too. Get around 3000 follower so far (but no sales yet from instagram).

I have around 100 products in my store so there is 100 pins about my product in pinterest. Only one of my pin now has 2k repins (I dont know how I did it). And that $200/month is from that sole pin. I always imagined that all of my pins has more than 2k repins, $20000/month would be a piece of cake XD.

Good luck on your journey bro!

    Hey

Do you mind sharing how you drive traffic via pinterest? Is it same as insta and twitter where you follow/unfollow/like to get engagement on your pins?

I did use autopin.co (bot for follow/unfollow) to get 900 followers while it was $20/mo. That's the method I use. no joke. But follow/unfollow method is really SLOW. It's really different from instagram bot where I can get 50 followers/day easily. I kinda know how did one of my pin goes viral. If a pinterest account who has huge followers repin my pin, its follower can see my pin being repinned. And sometimes they repin it too. That's how it goes. And also after getting more than 2k repins, that pin is on top of pinterest search page which is very good.

Rather than getting follower, now I am working on how to get many repins as many as possible.
