we are all accustom to getting stuff from China, im trying to send TO china. a couple years ago you could ship 4 pounds for $12. today that $12 has become $25!! its doubled. who knows how many nicely profiting companies and people had to leave their money makers. i know usps is cheapest to ship out of the big shippers. anyone has any blackhat or sideways to ship things. my items are 1.5 to 2 pounds OR 3.5 to 4 pounds. i COULD load up and ship but ... looking for some OUT OF THE BOX thinking here. it is ridiculous they can mail us stuff for 10 to 20 cents and that same item would be $10 bucks going the same way backwards. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Why not use the Chinese couriers? Surely if they go there, they have to come back to China, right? Check EMS website to see if they offer services to China.

I heard a story on NPR last week that because so many more shipping containers come from China than go back to there, that you can send an entire container of cargo from LA to China for $200. They were saying this is why SoCal recyclers are sending stuff to China instead of processing it in the US.

i know this is WAY outside the box, but maybe you could JV with someone in LA and fill a container together?

Not trying to figure out what your niche is, just wondering how you find your chinese customers. Do you put ads on Taobao and have chinese translators deal with the communcation? Just curious.

I can't provide any info but I'm also interested in how you find your customers in China.

I'm guessing you send exclusive items, how do you handle your payments with China?

get a 2 pound item from a chinese connection in a box
carefully unseal the box, remove the item in it, put your item inside the box
go to the post office and tell them you have no clue about what's in that box and that there must've been a mistake and to return it to the sender.

rob a store that sells stamps/post office.
    send packages.

rob your local mailman ... he must have some stamps...

get a good printer, print your own stamps.
