Will you have any free time at all during this year? I can't imagine balancing a full time job with IM, I'd get burnt out so quick.

Thank you all for the encouragement and well wishes. Accountability is a helluva drug.

That's something I've never heard of, thanks for the further information. I did some stuffing back in the day. After the DP and Saucekit investigations here on BHW, I shied away. I'll have to check out the rules and see what kind of exploitation can be done.

Free time is for the weak. I try to use my time effectively. Somehow I always manage to get a good amount of work done in the day, and still have time to relax with my wife and cuddle with the dog. Those are the minutes that matter most.

It's all a ruse, sir. All a ruse.

The ebook is definitely in the pipeline. After doing the 12,000 word build a brand thread, I figure the potential profitability per hour is relatively high. And I'll definitely hit you up regarding the Iceland site.

Haha thanks. It's a big endeavor. Essentially doubling what 2017 is looking like. I'm hopeful, though, if I can spend the rest of 2017 ensuring all the ducks are in a row.

Stream based updates as the New Year approaches:
    • My full-time job. Tweaked my 401k allocations through Fidelity to 100% VINIX set it and forget it. I have zero plans to change this allocation in 2018. That account has now crossed $7k, and I have another $3k or so in a 5+ year old Transamerica account to roll over into this. Business has been strong this year at my office, and a bonus is expected in April. What percentage, I do not know.
    • My wife's full-time job. Planning to change her 401k allocations as well, and roll her Transamerica 401k into her new account, too. She should be seeing a 3% pay increase mid-year, going from 100% underpaid to 103% underpaid.
    • My ORM firm. Dropped another client, bringing me to two. One is currently pro bono, the other pays $3k per month with equity in a startup as well. The third client (that was dropped) currently owes me $1,600. I will be going after that in 2018.
    • My SEO firm. My one current client pays $500 per month. I am in talks to obtain a second client for a similar rate. Workload is minimal. Again, I hope to handle some local SEO in 2018 with a set strategy that is followed to the T.
    • Content writing. Writing gigs have averaged between $4k and $5k per month over the past several months. I don't see that slowing down in 2018, especially with the addition of the subscription based content service.
    • AdSense/Amazon Niche Sites. My web property manager put the content up on the sites, and I had some more content written for them. In January I will be giving the writing the Sherbs touch, and in February I will be handling finalizations to site design, and then let them work themselves out. I'm changing my goal on these from $200 per month to $350 per month. That's $50 per month per site. I don't think that's too far of a stretch goal.
    • Iceland Travel Site. Instagram is at 20k followers now. Pictures are getting 1,000+ organic likes on average. I have yet to monetize the Instagram, and the only thing pointing it to my site is the bio link. The Twitter is closing in on 7k followers after some struggles. Images are averaging 40-60 likes each. I plan to re-optimize this account a bit. I have several articles to post, and quite a bit of content to add to the site. This is a Q1 goal, to get everything set content wise and focus on growth. I'm crossing my fingers for $10k return on this in 2018.
    • Multiple Local Web Projects. The shared direct mail service, if I fill a mailer, can easily produce $12k or more in profits with four mailings. The local SEO service I mentioned above. I'd love to see four clients at $300 per month, with all work performed by a VA at $400 per month, for an $800 per month profit. My local business directory I will need to outsource a lot to, or do some serious scraping. The smaller local directory site I think I can get $100 per month from monthly listing subscriptions. My photography brand I don't expect to make money from, and do it for fun, but if I sell some prints so be it. The food truck site I might be able to get $500 out of.
    • Marijuana Directory Sites. Q1 2017 will focus on hiring out help to add hundreds upon hundreds of listings, starting with the smaller site as a test and then moving to the larger. I will attempt monthly listing subscriptions here as well, in addition to unobtrusive on-page ads, and potentially niche product pages.
    • Potential 2018 BST's. I think the ORM based course may be my only BST attempt in 2018. The PBN I have a different idea for, but I will explain that below.
    • PBN to Money Site Conversion. A lot of my 60-site PBN is domains that have some serious potential for ranking for specific keywords. I will go one at a time and turn these into money site quality, testing traffic and watching rankings. If things look like they are starting to take off, I will move it from a private to public and test what happens. I'm crossing my fingers for $8k in 2018 from this, with $2k of expenses for domain renewal and hosting.
    • Adult Site Stuff. I started with five adult Twitter accounts linking to Crak-centric landers. Three of them have been suspended, but the two that have not are taking off in a very big way. With the javascript follow and the Manageflitter unfollow, one is at almost 12k and one is at almost 10k followers, and they are getting solid engagement. They have EMD .net's associated with them, and I'm looking for a hopeful $5k from this in 2018.
    • Signature Links. I'm going to lowball myself and assume an average of $100 a month from this.
    • Dividends from Investments. I'm hopeful that growth is several grand across all, not including my own contributions. They are split amongst a VTSAX account with ~$15k, and I plan to add another $10k to it in 2018, the VINIX that will be above $10k and should get another $6k or so added in 2018, my wife's retirement account which will start around $6k once rolled and should get another $4k into it in 2018, five current shares of Apple that I will add a new share to each month in 2018, and some crypto investments in BTC, ETH, and BCC just for shits and giggles. I'm trying to stay minimal on my own end with effort, so I will put my trust in Vanguard and stocks.
    • Other Things. I will be starting another two travel sites for national parks I plan to visit this year. This will allow me to write off the vacation expenses, as I will do for the Iceland trip this past year. I'm hopeful to get these sites at a good place by year-end and gaining traffic. I might be getting a tax refund this year, dependent on how our specific and complex tax situation goes (I do our taxes). I may be taking some of my woodworking to the local arts market and attempting to sell end tables and such. If I do this, I may print and frame some of my photography and try to sell them there as well. Profit on that will be low, but it's a nice break away from the screens.
Onwards and upwards. The first update will be in the first week of February, and will encompass month-end totals for January 2018, as well as notes and potential changes. Thanks to all who are following this journey along with me.

Hope you reach that mark in 2018. Nice to see that you have included earnings from signature links in the income as well. What % of your income goes in monthly expenses ?

  12. This 100%. When your PBNs are fully-fledged sites, you don't have to hide them. Sure, you get less SEO benefit from it, but you get to monetize powerful domains.

Bitconnet or Bitcoin Cash? If it's the former then don't bother.

Do you view your businesses as being connected in any way? With that many things going on I would be tempted to find ways to vertically integrate them, for maximum return.

But, it sounds like your strategy is focused around diversification, and each separate business being a form of wealth generation.

It's always interesting to see how others manage multiple businesses like this, especially when they have a career. Nice.

That very much depends. If I (we) make $12,000 in a month on average currently, I estimate that $5,000+ would go to monthly household expenses and $2,000 to business expenses/reinvesting.

Budgeting for 2018 I'm hoping for the following monthly expense levels:

    $2,200 for mortgage/property taxes/HOI
$800 on groceries (we eat a lot of meats and vegetables and cook at home frequently)
$300 for utilities (water, sewer, trash, electric, Internet)
$1,000 payment on the wife's med school loans
$250 for gas for the two vehicles (both paid off)
$500 for miscellaneous purchases for the two of us and/or the dog
$250 for entertainment and going out to eat

    $1,000 for outsourcing
    $1,000 for miscellaneous business expenses

Things like car insurance, flood insurance, pest control, fertilization, etc we pay for quarterly or annually.

I'm honestly hoping that I can hit at least $20,000 per month average with expenses at or below $10,000 per month. It'd be nice to have at least an extra $120,000 to play with for things like savings and improvements to our home to increase the property value.

That's my goal! A lot of them are either brands themselves or are brandable. And I was referring to Bitcoin Cash, although right now that investment is making negative returns.

    Thanks a ton!

Haha I'll let you know, thanks!

A lot of my businesses I roll up as follows:

One overarching LLC (already formed and renewed for 2018)

Large umbrella buckets for the affiliate sites/money sites, local services, ORM service, writing services, and additional sites and services. Everything falls under one of those five.

    Thanks so much!

Thanks for the inspiration, I hope you achieve your goals. I have money invested with Vanguard too which is giving me a nice return - beaten the inflation rate in the UK despite the sharp rise due to brexit.

    Following :)

Also, have you considered dropshipping or Amazon merch?? I have heard people are making big money in these.

I wish you the best of look mate. I did something similar last year, however, problems you will find is that once you are successfully growing each project, your time is gonna diminish.

I now find its best to grow, test and once you find a winner, focus 100% on that.

Like you say, too many eggs, to many baskets. Keep it stupid simple bro!
