Seriously, I don't know about what this journey is There are so many standard business models here, so I don't see "gold" here. Why not focus on single thing?

Focusing on one thing makes you poor, rich people have multiple streams of income.

Wow I am a fairly new guy here I guess, but this post is one of the most impressive I've seen. Inspirational, mate.

 

I will thoroughly enjoy this thread as even though you didn't accomplish some of the things you set out to do you have the heart and passion to complete the rest. I wish you nothing but the best for you and your family. Also, if you need any supplies for your charity I will do the best I can to help out. Both of my parents had or have cancer as I lost my mother last year. I don't have tons of money but will do what I can to help in anyway possible. Really? If you were making good amount of money AUTOMATED, would you still go to the job the next day?
I mean, why not scaling it up, or if you don't want to, enjoy the auto-pilot income and enjoy your life?
I don't see a reason to continue working for someone else when you make a good "automated" income, and when you obviously have the skills to scale it up.

For some reason, my post got reported because of 'Post count inflation' which is super hilarious in my opinion but whatever. I'll post this again with the hope that some mod doesn't delete this.

First of all: Happy New Year to Sherb and the rest of you guys! I can totally relate to the lack of focus and proper planning and having too many projects. The first step towards improvement is to acknowledge these things and be more realistic with some stuff. Hopefully you'll be able to stick to your plan and keep us updated!

Depends on what you mean enjoy life, for me working is enjoying life. I don't find traveling nor sitting on the beach with a laptop enjoyable or "life goal" like the narrative most gurus are trying to push.

watch yourself with stocks bud. Could be some relief rally early this year.. but I think that will be the exit point for a lot of hot money before further weakness. There’s still a heck of a way down before some stocks become “value” again. (in the wider market).

 

Thanks for sharing. It's very clear that you lacked focus and involved yourself in too many things. It's good that you admitted that and hopefully in 2019 you will be able to live a more relaxed life and extract the most out of your top projects.

Also, I'm not sure on what kind of financial framework are you operating. It seems that your only goal for 2019 is to make as much money with no specific target in mind. For example, if you had a goal for achieving financial freedom, you would have a plan for how much money you need to earn each month over X years, at what rate your income should be increasing, how much you're putting into savings/investments each month. That way, it would be easier to arrange priorities and maximise the value of your time.

Coming from the travel business, why don't you monetize your Iceland site through direct selling, managing end to end itinerary. You have a sizable traffic and if it's converting well you can make a lot more that way. AFAIK booking.com pays pennies to affiliates.

This is a great point you’re bringing up, Peter! If you’re doing something that you LOVE doing, AND you can get paid to do it, why stop for someone else’s goal?

It would be like saving a bunch of money, and buying someone else’s dream car.

About the stocks loss - i feel your pain, I had a lot of money in the QQQ [tech stocks] and sold everything about a month ago, plus told my mom to do the same, luckily for us we got out in time, I felt like its been going up for years and after watching some Ray Dalio videos made the right decision to sell, im staying away from the markets for a while.

About your sites - it seems like you're spreading yourself too thin. I love doing a ton of shit in one time, but you gotta be careful not to spread yourself too thin, I learned from my mistakes... instead of 3 adsense sites and 5 amazon sites that maybe together made you a few pennies, imagine if you invest a ton of time and effort into 1 site , you could make a ton more... just telling you what iv started doing since i focused a lot of my energy in one of my site its been absolutely crushing it
