Well as we know dedicated IP's are a safer bet, but since some of the big hosting companies actually have a few K sites on a same, shared IP, it might work. Depends on your budget.

If it was me I'd go for a dedicated IP

    Thanks for your input
Yeah, i think Dedicated IP makes more sense in long run,
i was holding back due to the price. (its almost double) :(

Yeah, I know. I once had a plan similar to yours to make a private blog network, but just didn't have the cash for it so I decided to rent some space on a blog network form a service provided here till I get the cash to create my own. Good luck with your project, these links are extremely powerful right now and you could make your investment back if you decide to rent some space too

    Thanks again.

Just out of couristy, why you say its expensive?

Whats the quote you researched, for developing a 'small/med size' private blog network for personal use?

    Thanks

My current web hosting company, Fatcow, charges 11$ per domain on a shared account, but 36$ for dedicated for the first year and over 100$ for the next year. If I decided to go for 85 brand new sites, meaning no PR, it would cost me 3K for the first year on a dedicated IP Fatcow hosted + I'd have to invest in link building and PR. Of course there are many more hosting companies out there, this is just the one I briefly considered-

Then I found a guy on BHW who offered his PR rank 0-4, 15 blogs for around 2.5K. Again I was short of cash for it.

So I just switched to renting space on a network that is already set up and they write the articles for me + they have one PR8 link. It was just a much simpler and cheaper solution for me 196$/month.

EDIT - forgot to say, I only have 3 money sites and the investment would be more appropriate for someone with 10+ sites

    Ah I see.
Well, i wasnt planning to get '85' sites up, was thinking about maybe '20' as a start.

As purchasing the network from a BHW user, with only 15 blogs, why would you consider that? I thought your initial plan was 85, and somehow you mentioned about getting 15 for 2.5k. I dont think thats really worth the investment anyways since thats pretty off from what you have planned.

    Thanks again
