ShareCash has announced this on 5 January 2010: =========== Lately many downloaders have been buying a premium account, downloading the file, and then making an excuse to PayPal to reverse the payment. This activity has increased lately, leading to an incredible amount of reversals. When a payment is reversed, however, we do not take the money away from your account, but instead pay you for it. After a careful evaluation of the situation we have concluded that we are losing money at a very progressive rate because of this, and if we let this continue indefinitely there could be a chance we would need to cease operations. According to the statistics we have studied, we concluded that we have to set the premium account rate at 30%. We believe this is a much better option than reversing your payments since all the money you get is yours to keep, and you never have to worry about it being taken away. It should hardly affect your overall earnings, since the vast majority of your revenue comes from downloads. In order to compensate for this change, we are working on a few new ideas that will open new ways to earn and help everybody make even more cash. =========== What a load of garbage. The only way to make any decent money out of ShareCash was through premium sign ups because very few people want to fill out the endless surveys to download a file (hence, you give them a few 'like' files to download and they then feel compelled to sign-up). Obviously, ShareCash wants more of this premium sign-up money for themselves.
