In the offline world, customers are money to marketers, in our world traffic is money (its same actually, just different wordings).In theory, you make money when you leave cookie on a targetted traffic.And to do that, you have to reach them, online, unlike offline where people move around from malls to malls or markets to markets, online, people move around from sites to sites, using google as their vehical and reach places they want to go.They reach sites using keywords to reach relevant sites and they buy things online just like they buy offline.
*Knowing your source of money
We got to first know where the money is coming from, we are not going to sell, we are only going to promote so we got to first join the affiliate network we want to promote.
You need to have a niche site to promote products, you can use social network site like squidoo or hubpages, but I think its going to be easier, and I use niche sites to promote products.Create a site about any niche, example - sports, gambling, weight loss, real estate etc......
Targetting your keywords, keywords is the most important thing to me, I always like to explore more about keywords because its what offline marketers called markets.Keywords is your way to reach your market.
Go for low competition or untapped longtail keywords, believe me, there are lots of untapped keywords, infact, there are some keywords that I found have competition less than 100, and I can actually make atleast $30/day with that traffic.
Well, you just got to find less competitive longtail keywords, create a site using wordpress or anything else, then social bookmark, spam blogs (don't do alot or u could get banned) do enough to get u #1-#3 position, seo is just about targetting keywords and keyword rich anchor and quality backlink.There are lots of information about seo on here.
In summary, just target the keywords and rank for them.There are billions of keywords, and there are only few thousands marketers.There are still alot untapped keywords.Improve your skills and beat your competition on the head.
