So I was doing some KW research yesterday went and opened a new tab in Chrome to lookup an emd on Namecheap. It gives me that "oops, we fucked up, try typing in google search box instead"

Then I'm like damn, that's one hell of way to use your market positing to your advantage.

Just put a convenient bug in your browser that forces users to go through you search engine and potentially click on your ads.. After checking in different broswers and replicating in Chrome, I am convinced google is doing this on purpose. Thoughts??

I really doubt they were doing this on purpose, they already make billions without those shady techniques, so why risk their mighty reputation among common users?

Well even if they do get called out on it they can just say, "oh it was a bug, we've just issued an update." That's the beauty of it..

It wouldn't be the first time "technical errors" conveniently benefited said corp, think banks charging transactions in w/e order they please so they can nail you with an overdraft fee, cell phone billing errors, etc..

Sounds like your PC is infected to me, do a virus scan and manual search ASAP.

Exactly, we already know they have history of shady practices, I really don't see how this is that big of a stretch at all..

I mean, when you feel it's necessary to let people know that you won't "be evil"..

That's a like a parent proudly proclaiming they don't beat their kids.. yeah no on is expecting you to you don't have to remind people..

Show me one person who has made billions of dollars without a single lawsuit.

You guys don't know what shady is if you think Google qualifies.
