I decided to go ahead and start looking into creating my own business here in the UK. For the start it will be just me working for some clients. I have no experience in No Computing languages. Can you give comments about this scheme?

    1) Use adwords to advertise the service.
2)I will only build websites from scratch using Wordpress and Themeforest themes
3)Affiliate with hosting/domain registrar companies for extra cash
4)Build a website on their domain with their content
5)Tell them to review -> if they are happy they pay you -> I give them the website

I think this is good enough right?

First thing you need is a portfolio. Just set up a few quick sites and make then look good for the top local niches. Forget adwords to start with, I would go knocking on doors, show them a mock up and try and have a unique selling point.... latest HTML5 sites, Mobile ready, Free social account set up.... you get the idea.

How many websites have you built to date ?
How long does it take you to finish a complete site and how much will you charge for it ?

I have 2 websites completed (for myself) I was going to charge 10-20 £ per hour of work. And please do not pm me with services. I do not have the ability to employ anyone at this time.

Id suggest you get a lot more website under your belt.

You will be looking at the much cheaper end of the market and people wont pay the hour they will want a fixed rate of £199-£399

You want to be direct mailing local business for the moment, adwords would be a waste.

What Duffers said here, and then remember that it might be worth your time to go to some of the local businesses in person. Do a little bit of research on them first, and then go there and introduce yourself and how you and your business could help them gain more customers 'because today's world is all about looking good on the internet' and so on.

Also, a good tip that landed me my first clients was that when I went to talk to them in person near my Uni, I took my portfolio with me. I did it in the form of printing out some of the stuff I had done and had an all around focus on different niches and just really put my best work into that map. A nice little twist to that would be a tablet or a laptop. Go to the business and introduce yourself, do the usual 'I will make your life better with...' and ask if they'd like to see samples. Then whip out the tablet/laptop and you'll impress them by having it ready to do a slideshow or a portfolio that you can browse through like an image gallery on your phone.

First impressions are important when making the sale. And don't go telling them how much you will charge per hour unless you think they might want some special orders done, because it's easier to say 300£ for a responsive HTML5 website that looks gorgeous, than 'I will charge 10£ an hour and this will take between 5-989564 hours'. They like the idea of knowing exactly how much it will cost, hence giving them a certain price, that you have thought out to match the hourly wage you wish to achieve after all the expenses.

^^^^^ This OP, knocking up two WP websites for yourself does not make you a web designer or make it a viable business at this point.
You need more experience and trying to get it on the job might be a disaster for you and the client.
Keep building sites and after you have built a couple of dozen you might be ready.

my advices, i have been in this biz for more than 2 years now, been in to alot til i get it to work
opening such company need allot of work, before even protfilo you will need own trust website such as bussines listing website, or classified website.
from such website you will find young biz owners and convert them to order your service
after this you will need good database for Companys in ur area for cold phone calls.
blog network depending in ur nichet
then you have to bulid you selling stratogy plan - (offers) not all who will come ordering website really know what he want
    so better to make plans
    A) landing page ($price (from 199$ or what ever )
    B) Sample Site ( 4 - 5 ) pages no coding requred such as main about us contact photo gallery
C} corperation website this with product listing Team etc...
    d) custom made website
this will make ur life easy with clients
back to protfilo every plan need 2 / 3 ready website with good looking theme content
after you will done all this back stage work go ahead and rent a office and good luck
    sorry about my english :(

Why not just charge more for hosting than what the hosting companies charge? Most clients don't know what to do, so you can charge them a "setup fee" or whatever else you want to call it. If you make them sign up themselves, they won't.

Or register as a sole trader, though that means if you flunk, your assets (money, house, car etc.) are on the line as well. Where as in a limited company you only risk your investment's worth of money.

Then again, not sure if Portugal follows any similar categories of businesses.

We have the same categories of businesses. I will have to study how to make a limited company, just in case..

    Thank you!

I would charge them as much as I can. The Brits tend to pay more for things that don't cost at all. Here in the UK you buy the same PC for £199 that you get in the US for $199 just as an example

I'm going to be going to London next year an will be looking for work. Let me know if you're hiring then.

Make ~10 websites for local professional niches, eg denitics, lawyers a ect... Use them in your portfolio and then sell links on them later on. That way you recoupe the investment.
