Is it a bad idea to set up a home server to send email? Reason would be that your ISP would limit SMTP - and - get immediately suspicious and block traffic?

Does that sound accurate or am I just being paranoid?

Best is to set-up your SMTP in a VPS and try that I reckon....

Leave the residential ISP alone probably best?

Dont risk your isp connection or deal with its limits. Get a vps.

Yes, it is a very bad idea. Your ISP will very quickly cut you off.
