In this article I will guide you step by step to set up your own blog and start earning income from this huge cyber world called "World Wide Web".

    Blog for Money
What you need to set up a blog:
    1. A niche of your choice.
    2. A domain name.
    3. A hosting account.
    4. Set up wordpress.
    5. Install wordpress plugins.

Deciding which niche you will write about.

Deciding your niche to make money online.
In the first place, this is probably the most crucial step. You will be writing about your chosen niche for years to come. So first of all you need to be comfortable with the niche. Just imagine that after several months of working on your blog, you suddenly loose interest in the niche. I am sure you would not want a do over at that point. This is probably the most critical consideration in this first step.

Secondly there are a number of factors to consider, especially if you want to make an income with your blog. here are the factors to consider:

    1. Keyword Difficulty. (Basically how difficult is it to rank the keywords related to your niche in the search engines.)
Choose keywords with low difficulty score.
Notice that I have listed only one point above. That is because it basically encompasses everything you need to consider about your chosen niche's profitability. Keyword difficulty can be broken down for explanation:

    1. Identify your audience.
    2. Research the keywords used in your niche market.
    3. Analyze your competition.
    4. Research the trends on Google.
For beginners it is best to try and find a niche with keywords that has a low difficulty score.

    Here is a free tool you should use to do your keyword research. {{{ will add link sometime in the future }}}

Buy a domain name for you blog.

    domain name for you blog
You can not simply just change your domain name a couple of months down the road. So needless to say just as mentioned in the first section, you surely don't want to have a do over later.

Since you by now already did your keyword research, use a keyword or multiple keywords related to your niche to make up your domain name. All in all try to keep it as short as possible. There are much debate on the net about whether to use hyphens to separate the words in your domain name. I prefer to use hyphens as it makes it easier to read. Try not to go over 3 words and 2 hyphens else it will look a bit spam like.

Meanwhile there is also a lot of debate about domain name extension (ie .com, .net, .or), overall i would suggest going for a top level domain. Or you could also use an extension specifically suited for your niche. You could also get a country specific domain extension. In this case I refer you to GoDaddy's [[[ will add link sometime in the future ]]] of available domain extensions, which is quite comprehensive. I also refer you to the following [[[ will add link sometime in the future ]]] which has a bit more description. And of course you may google search any domain extension to find the meaning.

I use Namecheap to register all my domains since they offer free whois protection.

There are different levels of performance when it comes to hosting.

    1. Shared hosting.
    2. Virtual private server.
    3. Dedicated Hosting.
From 1 to 3 the performance increases. Correspondingly the price also drastically increases.

There are many free hosting services, but I would strongly advise against using it. From personal experience when I just started out, I can guaranty you, it is NOT an option. there are just too many limitations that comes with free hosting. But if you don't believe me, go ahead and find out for yourself the hard way.

I would recommend that when you start out, you use dedicated hosting with unlimited disk space. It would be the cheapest viable option since you are just starting and did not make any money yet.

Now I have used many hosting services who claims unlimited disc space, just too discover later on month down the line that the fine print limits the disk space.

Thus far the only host I have found who truly gives you unlimited disk space on shared hosting is
    Hostwinds.

Follow the steps on this page :
[[[ will add link sometime in the future ]]] - Just google "How to setup wordpress with softaculus at hostwinds"

Install wordpress plugins to make money online.
Depending on which income method you are going to use, the specific combination of wordpress plugins will differ.

Log in to your wordpress admin panel.

On the left hand side of the admin panel you will see a list of options. Click Add New under Plugins like in the screenshot below.

In the search box where I have typed TYPE HERE, type the plugin you want to search for and press enter.

The page will then reload and you just click on the Install Now button in the respective plugin box.

The click on the Activate button.
