I have a page lets say

    www.site.com/page/search

I optimised this page, using a description, page titles and h1 etc. Then I suplimented this internal page again with one of the genuis backlink guys on here...

Whilst we show up 3rd for the keyword... the description google has published is a random one from the page of results and not the description we added...or was given to the backlink team.... is this my fault?

What can I do to make sure the correct description is shown for the pages?
The other results for other pages in my site are the same... it seems all non MAIN pages of the site or DEPARTMENTS are not showing the recommended description for that page...

Any ideas please - I love you? Blow jobs all round...

If the description showed is not the one you gave to backlink team well, it must be something wrong on site's settings.

    Waiting for reviews.

Check the source page for the page in question and look at your meta description. See if it's not showing right.

    Checking whilst preparing oral areas...

My coder says that it might be to do with the current descriptions not having enough characters? Is there a special character number required for descriptions.

It seems like it's a rich snippet? Google won't necessary show the meta description, if they think one part of your site is more relevant, they will show that part in the snippet instead of your meta description.

This is highly likely what happened, the content doesn't match the description well enough so google does the description for you.You will know if this is really the case ...........

No I have been relevant. I have noted they may have been a bit short, so have added 156 characters which is the minimum... see what happens..
