I used firefox rank checker tool and Google rank checker tool and they both tell me that my site in nr 88 for it's keyword but when I open firefox, safari, chrome or IE and type in the keyword my site is nowhere to be found. Not even in the radius of 50 results the tools gave me. Are the tools that inaccurate or what is happening? The safari browser is the one that I don't use for anything else than SERP checking manually, not clicking any links or anything.

Are your results location influenced? That may be it...

I only use safari for manual rank checking too, but it still uses my location

Maybe the tools use different data center to check your rankings. If you are not in the US and the tools use US data centers that could lead to the different results that you are getting. Try to check manually from a proxy :)

its hard to rely on most ranking tools. Try serprush.com and then find the page where your keyword's ranking. Check the position manually. They are almost accurate.

Generally, Rank Checker for firefox is pretty accurate. However, you can try doing this --

    1) Get Google Global for Firefox (or Chrome),
    2) Log out of all accounts, or start private browsing (in Chrome, its incognito mode) with plugins enabled,
    3) Do a search then choose USA by click on the Google Global plugin's icon.

[For Safari, in Mac, its 'Private Browsing' mode]

This should give you accurate results. If there are still discrepancies, the tools are most probably reporting inaccurate data.

I used Newark or something like this proxy from US and it did find my keyword but not the other one. If SERP results differ so greatly form country to country bc of the IP then how do I really know what rank my pages has? Do I just have to pick a city in US and rank my keyword for that city's IP's? :D

You don't know. All you can do is figure out the rank from your IP, with your cookies, in your location, etc., etc. Search results are heavily personalized (and it's not just country to country - it's more granular than that) so there's just no way to guarantee that you're a given number for everyone. Your best bet is to search using the localized G site for your target market with cleaned cookies. This is what subscription rank tracking tools do for you.

My recommendation would to be to use a rank checker that's web based and automated.

You'll get more realistic results, and not have to deal with these issues. The problem is that your likely logged in with this rank checker and the more and more you check results, the more and more personalized they become.

The web-based rank checking tools don't have these issues.
