hey all. its been awhile. So I have written a few of my own products, I want to bring in some good cash. I never sold my own stuff before. What would you recommend on my site? What I mean is for example, I have used the butter**fly marketing script, but I dont want to give anything away for free and then have them buy my product. Is there some sort of website script similiar I should try out to just sell my product, that way the downloads are protected or should I just make a landing page and hide the download somewhere? Thanks.

:)

If you use the butter fly marketing script (BFM), you can already integrate selling on the same website using pay pal (some folks hate this service though :p).

Simply add the paypal payment button and link and you can manage this inside the BFM area too, I believe.

What you might want to figure out or fine tune is how to be able to capture names and email addresses and have these integrated into a good autoresponder system. This way, you can continue to do more back end sales, send affiliate offers to your list, and do JVs with other folks.

Additionally, you may want to make sure that you have a good One Time Offer (OTO) page that can help you upsell or downsell, and also use that to attract affiliates who will help you sell your products.

Or were you looking for an entirely different platform in selling your products?

You can consider using WordPress, and/or a*m*ember script to help you with it too :)

Cheerio. :)

yea, I am possibly looking to see what other platforms are out ther to sell my products. Like i said, mostly because for this I dont want to give something away for free, and THEN try to sell them my product. I want them signing up or buying for what I am actually selling, you know.

i understand what you're saying about not wanting to give something away.

however, the sales process online is in some ways similar to offline sales. :) You cannot ask a girl to marry you the first time you meet (online, this is equal to a website visitor landing on your webpage the first time). You need to try and aim for getting the girl's phone number or email (online, it is like asking for their name and email address so you can contact them again) :). It may take many contacts/email follow-ups before they buy. And some people will just NOT buy your product, no matter what. However, if you promote a competitor's product to them, they might buy through your affiliate link :D in your email follow up messages.

anyways, here's my 2 cents worth :)

1) People are probably looking for information online , i.e. your content or product.
2) They might be willing to pay for it, but maybe not if they were meeting you the first time or landed on your website the first time.
3) Therefore, you might still need to get their contact information for follow uping so you may still need to "give" something away in exchange for their email address and name.
4) You then follow up using email messages to build trust and credibility or channel them to your blog or website and keep doing this until they unsubscribe or buy.
5) Continue to cross sell, upsell and even do JVs with others.

This is what I understand to be the typical or conventional sales funnel model. :)

What do you think? :)

I guess there could be a black hat model where you could do things a little differently, but still make some money.

Maybe the blackhat experts can offer some suggestions on this cos I'm a noob :p

Cheerio :rain: :chairshot :flame:

P.S. Would you want to share the niche that you're hoping to promote to?

good tips. I guess I should maybe figure out some free info to give them before trying to upsell my stuff. my niche is somewhat online marketers, mostly blackhat. I wonder what I should give away first..

Usually it is a teaser or teaser-like information.

Tested workable methods are probably fair game, I figure.

Some folks give scripts away but allow you to upgrade to a platinum version.

I guess you need to identify their hot buttons :p and it might be good to focus on 1 segment at a time (e.g. CS-ing or e-whoring, blog farm traffic etc. etc.) rather than trying to cover too many things at 1 go.
