    Hello,

I am launching new project and I don't wanna outsource SEO services anymore, so far I don't think I got what I paid for.
I wanna start to care about the SEO things by myself and looking for tools that will help me with. So far I am using only Google Analytics, but looking for another tools for checking page rank, backlinks:

    What I've found until now:
    - https://ahrefs.com/ for checking count of backlinks to a website
    - http://www.getrank.org/ for checking page rank

Another tool that can be worth to try - http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/.

Could I ask guys for recommendation of tools which would be good to use? For example for tracking position for a searched term on Google? Lot of people recommend SEOMoz, but I would prefer from the start using free tools as I am not very familiar with all those SEO terms.

    Thanks

Here are a few I can recommend.

#1 - Scrapebox - For scraping good domains to build links from
#2 - Wiki Bomber by clyde - Great software to build quick wiki links. Good for tier 2.
    #3 - SERPBuddy.com - Best rank checker so far.
#4 - SENuke( if you can afford it) - Best for Tier 1 links. Though recently I've heard it leaves footprints.

Thats all from the top of my head. I usually outsource my SEO, but when I used to do it myself these were the best tools I used.

Yeah. I've heard it leaves huge footprints. But I'm pretty sure it is still used.

Can try SERPBook/SERPBuddy for ranking monitoring. Alternatively can have a look at Link Assistant related softwares

I am also interesting in a backlink checking tool. ahrefs is extremely expensive in my opinion for such a tool.

For checking backlinks, try backlinkwatch because it uses the ahrefs engine without the need of paying.

For SERP tracking for FREE, you could use the free version of Rank Tracker though you won't be able to use the killer features like managing projects etc.
There's a thread for YZtracker which is a free solution available online. For a hit-and-run approach, working with WhatsMySERP is definitely viable, especially for quick competition analysis if you partner it with scrapebox.

For SERP tracking I theink the best paid is serpbook and the free one is rankerizer but rankerizer recently shows un0realistic results sometimes.

    Hi

I also used to leave the SEO work for experts but its an important skill and its important to have a basic understanding to ensure they are not messing you around.

Try SEOsitecheckup its very user friendly, you can check all factors or target specific ones while you work.

Selecting only "most common keywords" in the drop down menu while perfecting you keyword density, makes it light work. Just clicking "get checkup" after each published change

For a more in-depth I use Woorank It is a paid service but they allow you to check a site once a week for free.

Not entirely sure if some of the suggestions they mark as important are really helpful where SEO is concerned e.g. Declaring the language of your site or adding a print friendly CSS but the insights into your project can only help build a better site

    Hope this helps

    Regards
    Mike
