I seem to have hit a road block which I don't know how to bypass. Here's what I mean...

I have a site which is ranking pretty well (so far each keyword is within position 1-5) but for some reason there are these 2 sites (PR 3 & PR4) which I cannot seem to bypass no matter what despite the fact that my site is also a PR3.

There anchor text/onpage of those 2 sites do not even have the keywords im trying to rank for yet they occupy the first 2 spots in each of the keyword im trying to rank for.

For example, one of the keywords has a yahoo answers page ranked for #1, the number 2-3 positions are covered by the 2 sites which I cannot bypass and the number 4 position is occupied by my site. Despite the fact the yahoo answer page has only 1 link, and my site has a few which contains that particular keyword within the anchor, I still cannot bypass these 2 sites?

Im continuously building highPR links (domain wise) but no matter what I do, it seem like I simply cannot bypass them despite the fact the my onpage is just about perfect (keywords mentioned only one time) and anchor text targeting the keywords.

Dose anyone know why this is occuring and has anyone remotely experienced the same thing while trying to rank for keywords in their niche?

Its due to authority of those sites above you. Hope all your onpage seo is perfect(Not just about perfect) and it will take time for your site to crush their ranking. So keep building links and it will come up. It happened to me when i was also hit by this roadblock when WebMD, Mayoclicnic was ranking above me and with much stronger links then what u explain. It took a lot of time to beat them but its possible. Maybe try strengthening your Tier 1 links and do some guest posting if possible(quality links matter here as you have hit the roadblock)

Yea, my on page is perfect (don't really know why I said just about). Its not over optimized for any keyword at all. Some of the other keyword im ranking for are not even listed on my site. I guess you are right about the authority thing, I figured that would be the problem but Id rather hear it from somebody else. I've been building links daily so if by the end of next month I don't at least see a dance for those keywords ill just probably target other keywords in the mean time.
