    Quick SEO question..

I'm trying to pick a domain for some keywords I found in the google keyword tool. The keyword is like: what are the i7 computers
should I register whatarethei7computers.com or would I be fine to just register whatarei7computers.com? would it be bad to include the word "the"?

These is ok whatarei7computers.com even thou i will still consider it long.

What really matters is your onsite SEO.

Also don't allow anyone here deceive you that EDM doesn't rank or has been penalized.

    Biggest myth ever!

I hate the myth that people (who probably have never ranked a site in their life) say emd do not rank any more. LOL in that case Facebook wouldn't be ranking number 1 for the keyword facebook, since thats an emd right?

FuManChu, yours is a good question and I don't think there is a straight forward answer. I faced this same delima (sp) going back some 3 years and I still haven't come to a conclusion. Do you go for the exact match you think will bring traffic or is the word THE already discounted (for lack of a better way to phrase it - I'm tired). In the end I went without the word THE and I don't believe it hurt me, because like it was said earlier, on-page and off-page SEO can be more important if you know what you are doing.

I believe "the" is a stop word or whatever they are called. When "The" is at the end or start of the domain, it should be ignored. I don't really know about it being in the middle but it could be the same. Why don't you register both domains and redirect one of them to the other?

Lol, what link would you provide as a search engine then? IMO facebook.com seems kind of reletive to the search term..

And yes EMD does work (even thu its not that big of a boost as befor?).. I bought a EMD with a few hundered seaches/m two weeks ago and I'm ranking #1. Without a single backlink and the word isnt mentioned once in the content.

Our tests show that if your keyword is:

    the blue widget

    the domain thebluewidget.com ranks faster/higher than bluewidget.com
That doesn't mean that if the domain with the is only available you shouldn't get it.

Like the others said, perfect onpage SEO and good backlinks will get you there anyway and yes EMD's still work very well!

you can omit "the"... it will make your EMD shorter...and it keeping "the" inside wont make a major impact. And one more thing

    "Dont care about EMD Penalties"

I never go for EMD when it does not sound good. I trust on my team skills, they are good. You also trust on your work not on EMD.
