    Hi there,

I've got a few WP sites I want to launch in about a month's time to coincide with other product launches (not my own product but the sites are promoting them essentially); I know that when the product launches there will be lots of searches, but I won't have any content to put on the site until then....

So I was wondering what SEO practice I should follow if I want to rank for the relevant keywords... is it worthwhile doing manual backlinking, social bookmarking etc if there is not going to be any content on the site? I just imagine it will be easier to rank now before it launches, before loads of people jump onto the bandwagon and try to do the same thing when it DOES indeed launch!

My initial plan was to just follow normal SEO practice as I would if the site had launched already, but until the launch date just put in a "coming soon" page with a box to get a notification when the site launches, because I imagine there will be a few searches before it launches anyway.... I was just worried that not having quality content until the actual launch could jeopardise my SERPs in the long-term?

Would really appreciate any advice on this! Thanks :)

Wait until the site goes live and has content.

Do you think your links over to the site will look natural, if there's no content on it?

If you want organic traffic anytime close to the launch, you're not going to get it by waiting until the launch.
Build a site now that promotes a *similar* product with the same keywords --- and start building your links. When the real product launches, just swap out the sales text for the new product and you'll be ahead of the game.
