Please go easy on me! I am new to SEO (not new to making money online) and I have searched for the answer but I am unclear. Do I put backlinks to my site in the articles that I write (on the same site)? I understand that you put backlinks on other sites to direct to your site with an anchor text, but do i put that same anchor text on the actual site. Thanks in advance!

Hey!
Internal linking ("backlinks" on your own website) is important and should be done.
Link related pages when writing an article.

Read the question second time and I think you are asking if it's ok to link to your homepage site from other pages of that site. If that's the question then yes you can and there is no error in this, it's actually a great thing to do because this is going to establish your site structure. Hope you understand the process. Read about internal links, benefits of interlinking.

Yes, exactly. I just could not find the name (internal links, interlinking). That helps out a lot. Time for some more research! Thanks!

I suggest you Google "what is back link" and get to know the meaning from a diverse
point of view.

When you write article and submit to directories you are usually allowed to include a
link or two in the resource box area.

You can use your link e.g www.yoursite.com or make an anchor (clickable link) like "Your Site"

Your anchor is usually the keyword you are targeting or trying to rank for.

This tells Google and the search engine as a whole to rank you for your keywords
and of course the quality and quantity as well as a few other variables will determine
which site is ranked on the top.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have actually done a bit of research on backlinks. I was just confused about the internal links. Again, thank you for your input!
