Already at 843 organic hits. Unless the Christmas season becomes really slow, I will hit 1500 this month. That would be super cool! :)

My last work day is on Friday, and I will take Christmas off with my family. For new years' eve, I'm going to Stockholm with several friends to drink our brains out.

    Cheers! Thanks.

Because I still believe my traffic is too low. I will start to monetize with Amazon affiliate in December/January, but I will not focus on Display Ads (Adsense/Ezoic/Mediavine) before I got 10k/month.

    Words = 200 articles * 1500 words. Do the math. ;)

I am not focused at links at all. DA = 14.

Yes, I didn't take it in a hostile way. Frankly, I love people commenting in my thread. It's really nice of you. :)

    Thanks guys! Take care

I dont have the exact date from when I started the website, but yes...90 % of them are written by myself...while at work! ;)

So I am earning money while building up my own website when I got some extra time.

    Update!

Taking things a bit slow over the holiday (merry christmas everyone!). However, I have done quite a lot over the last two weeks.

    First: organic traffic update.

Last month ended at 1000 organic hits. We are already at 1093, which is a 9.3 % growth so far. As the traffic has slowed down a lot during the holiday season, I reckon we will end up at between 20-25 % growth month-over-month. Decent.

    Things I have done:

    - Re-applied to Amazon affiliate program. They banned me for some bizarre reason last time.

    - Contacted Amazon support to make sure that I am doing everything right with the links (as they banned me for having cloaked links last time, which I did not have...)

    - Made the article and link plans for January, February and March 2020.

    - Got in touch with @MisterF in order to see if I can buy some high quality links from him. At the moment, I am not very impressed with Authority Builders as they have spent 2 months activating my one link purchase from them.

    - Registered that my website was used by two random people. One in a forum and one used my website as reference to a quora question. Very cool to see. :)

Hopefully we can start to earn some money on this website soon.

Thank you! Yes, I always think long-term when it comes to websites. They always turns out to be the best in the end. :)

I hope people get two things from this journey: 1) Long term thinking/patience and 2) do not upload crap on the Internet. That will not work anymore if you want results.

Blogging journey is not so easy. I am also into he same boat with my website. I want to follow some of the mentors and wanted some writers who can write some really engaging content. My main focus to to engage the customers. I want to make a brand rather than only earn some bucks. Hope to see this in future.

I have been following your journey for a while and you really seem to be doing everything right, with patience and determination, but more importantly great focus and a clean long term strategy.

I love the fact that not only your traffic has grown but also you are no getting backlinks naturally!! I am rooting for you reaching your goal, keep it up!

There are top-notch writers in here that don't sell openly at all. For example @MisterF content writing service - Perhaps you should check that out. The best I have seen so far.

    Update!

I complained about being banned from the Amazon affiliate program and my account was reinstated. That lead me to buying the AAWP plugin, but my API credentials are still not working...some people say it might take 48 hours for them to work - so I will be a bit patient. :) Once my AAWP plugin is completely set up, I have about 10 articles with excellent affiliate content that I will push out. It's soon about to earn some money.

Sounds good. Keep your time balanced. Spend more time on your website and less time on reading about other people working on their website. It's good with a decent foundation, but learning for 100 hours a week and working 10 hours a week is not gonna get you there. Hang in there buddy.

Cheers! Thanks a lot for the nice words.

Great tip. I have been in touch with MisterF in regards to links, but not content. Thank you! :)

    What a year - Update!

As you can see from the screenshot below, the organic traffic has been in a very stable growth over the last year. Very happy to see the development. 31.5 % growth in the month of December is amazing if you take into consideration that "no one" searches for anything related to my niche between 23rd-31st December.

What am I doing in the first couple of months in 2020?

    - Pushing 20 articles across various topics.

    - I have just bought and installed AAWP plugin, which means that I will start to monetize the website very soon. 50 % of the articles written over the next two months will be typical Amazon review articles.

    - I might very well be able to get an investment for 10,000 USD (in talks with an investor now), which will push my ability to purchase articles and links.

    - Updating 10 old articles over a period of 60 days. That will increase the organic traffic on articles that have been published more than a year ago.

You've done really well last year. If you add affiliate links to this site I think you'll be able to make $200-$400 a month based on the amount of traffic.

I wish you all the best this year and things will start snowballing pretty soon.

Thanks a lot mate. And good luck with selling your website - I am rooting for you! :)

I'll include income statements in the thread once I start to see some traction through my Amazon affiliate links.

    Update!

In regards to traffic, it appears that people start to visit my website again after the horrible Christmas season (marked in red):

Monday was actually an "all time high" in regards to organic traffic, which I am super stoked about! :)

    Other things worth mentioning

I quit my job on Monday, which I am quite happy about. Was working for a startup, but did not have the passion to work 8-10 hours per day for someone else to succeed. Also, I was stuck with a lot of BI (business intelligence) tasks. Luckily, I am not exactly in a position where I do not get a new relevant digital marketing job. My last work day will be March 1st and then I will go on a business trip to China - so I will probably start in some new job by April 1st. By then, let's hope my website at least got 10k organic visitors per month. :)

    Article progress

So far, I have published six high quality articles in January - and I plan to publish at least three more. I have also scheduled one really good one that will be published in early February. The "article plan" for January, February and March have all been made - and I know exactly which ones that will be published at any time. Again: this is very important to keep me focused and motivated. You should always write down the articles that should be published. If not, things often tend to not happen. Planning is everything.

In regards to links, I haven't done anything lately. As a part of the January plan, I have written down that I will comment on at least 10 blogs with high quality blog comments.

In addition to that, I update four old articles with new fresh content.

    ------------------------------

Cheers mate! Really hope to reach there soon. It's all about not giving up despite the fact that it takes time to do white hat SEO. :)

    Thank you!

    Cheers! Appreciate the kind words.

    UPDATE & February challenge!

Yesterday was the best day ever recorded, which also made me hit the "100 organic search per day" mark:

In other words: things are still telling me that I am doing the right things, and I would be very surprised unless January 2020 will be the best month ever recorded. Expecting a growth of 20-30 % this month as well.

    What's my February challenge?

To post 28 articles in February - all of them of very high quality. I have already scheduled two posts, but I need 26 more in order to succeed. There will be a 50/50 distribution on so-called "money posts" and informational posts, but it's important that they are all of super high quality.

I also saw a warm recommendation of a keyword service done by @SEOMadHatter , and I sent him a message to see if he would be able to help me out in my niche. Will keep you guys updated on that.
