    Hi all,
As you all might know about SIRI uses Google search engine at backend to deliver you the desired results, I was wondering, does it open-up an entire new level of SEO particularly focussing on providing top SIRI results.

Do we have to optimize our webpages according to SIRI's criteria of finding search results or it just uses Google Maps to deliver the nearest possible business address. I believe it provides results on the basis of reviews of the businesses in a particular area as well.

Well, feel free to contribute your views.
Just a thought for a day...

Does that mean we need to optimize our webpage for "spoken keyword terms" like "what is the best car?" instead of "best car"? Damn these lazy ass iphone users.

Those "spoken keywords terms" are just voice iterations of a text from google search results.
SIRI really needs to be more clear in terms of its working.

    shit, it gets worse maestro....

My wife has that SIRI and treats the bitch like she is her BFF....

She'll push the button and instead of saying "best car", my crazy ass wife would say:

Hey Siri, so I'm going to go out today and maybe, just maybe I might be interested in purchasing a new vehicle, can you tell me where I should go?"

And I listen to my wife while she does this and I tell her "That robotic bitch can't understand all that shit you just said, you know that, right?"

Talk about long tail.....this shit is going to get ridiculous

    • Thanks Thanks x 5

Siri is powered by Wolfram Alpha and its results are manually influenced by a huge team while it'd be great if you could pull it off, I don't think you have the resources :p

Didn't knw that it is powered by Wolfphram, I read that Google is behind the scene and do you mean some team is managing the search queries??? If so, I dont this its feasible..

No Google isn't involved; but Wolfram Alpha has algorithm results that have a human impact ie algorithm generates the list and in some cases not all the humans set certain things manually higher so if you search it in future that result will appear instead of the regular top algorithm result

    @winchester.
What you are saying, is that there is an algorithm but that it could be tweaked by humans.

First comment is a wonder if the human is bribeable :)

Second - Despite all this, (and it WILL have a major effect on Local SEO), you CAN take steps to improve your chances

I read that the front end is actually Apple servers. So the question what's powering the back end? For the restaurant guide it's Yelp that provides reviews of local businesses on its database. It just filed for an IPO by the way. Interestingly Google just acquired Zagat. Has to be an IM play in here some where.

If someone is shopping I can see them using Siri at the mall for example to find chocolates or greeting cards. How to convert those actions into an IM buy is another matter.
