Ok so I'm starting to become less of a noob in the IM world. I have a mirco niche site that will rank nicely and already has a comment on it. Now how the hell do I rank it? Im currently running it off of wordpress and submitted the sitemap thing but I dont even know what a sitemap is o_O . It just told me to do so, so I did it. Anyways, is there anything I need to even get my page SUBMITTED to google? Also once it gets submitted, do I only need to get backlinks from there?

Sorry im still pretty noob. Please help me out here im trying to understand. As in indexed you mean that google actually put it on their search engine? And could you refer me to some good backlink building packages? Is this all I need to rank a page? Get it indexed and backlinked?

Buddy... It looks like you're still right at the start of your IM learning.

I'd suggest you spend some time reading through the threads here, and maybe do the video training here:

    http://challenge.co/training/

...Then you'll better understand some of the basics, so you'll be better informed about 'what you don't know yet' - and thus able to search for it.

Indexing means Google ( or other S.E's ) have placed it into their search results. This will happen naturally once you start building a slow and steady wave of diverse back-links.

No, you don't need to submit it to Google, the spiders will find it themselves. What you have to do is make it more attractive to them. I think at the moment you need to look at the basics - building backlinks, social media optimisation and all that jazz. Remember that diversity of backlinks is your friend, and the more different ways you're backlinked the better for rankings. So get active on blogs, forums and social networking, submit articles to directories, and so on.
