How old is your website and how long ago did you submit your sitemap?

Even if you submit a sitemap, that doesn't guarantee that Google will index all or even most of your pages. Google also has a couple of help pages for this issues here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/34441?hl=en and here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/34397

If you can't be bothered to read the help pages, the primary causes are below:
    • The site isn't well connected from other sites on the web.
    • You've just launched a new site and Google hasn't had time to crawl it yet.
    • The design of the site makes it difficult for Google to crawl its content effectively.
    • Google received an error when trying to crawl your site.
    • Google may have indexed your page under a different version of your domain name. For example, if you receive a message that http://example.com is not indexed, make sure that you've also added http://www.example.com to your account (or vice versa), and check the data for that site.
That last one can be resolved by setting your preferred domain and ensuring that your canonical URL is that only one that's accessible.

Ah, thanks for looking further into it Wilson. Based on that, I think OP was just looking at the wrong Search Console property (he should be looking at the www version since that's the only one that's accessible) and hasn't set a preferred domain (which is why the non-www version has indexed pages).

OP, if you haven't done so already, you need to register the www version of your domain. Just do what you did to register the non-www version, although you can skip the verification step since the website is already verified.

To set a preferred URL, follow these instructions:
    https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/44231?hl=en
    1. On the Search Console Home page, click the site you want.
    2. Click the gear icon , and then click Site Settings.
    3. In the Preferred domain section, select the option you want.
Do this for both properties (non-www and www). Over the next week, you'll see pages and your data drop from the non-www property, but don't panic and just ignore this. Once you register the www version, start viewing your data through the www Search console property only and ignore (but don't delete) the non-www property.
