How would SEO be done differently for a large entertainment website? Large would be something like 50k+ visitors a day.. I read through some of the tips in the "SEO for Ecommerce Sites" thread (i cant post links yet) and some of the tips seem like they would apply well to a large entertainment website, but what would be some of the best methods to build traffic when something like 500-3000 more visitors a day won't make that much of a difference? What kind of strategy would work for a site like this?

Social traffic - expand there social, become engaged with the visitors - with 50k+ if you do not already have a twitter/facebook account you are ages behind. Depending on the niche I would also add pinterest, pinterest is a huge traffic driver.

Do NOT just go buy seo link building packages and sit back

What I have found working with larger sites is that they organically acquire links already, it is more a matter of optimizing their on-page and like conrad above said, build up their social media profiles and entice customers to engage with the business.

We recently worked with a Blacksmith and I am amazed at how many people publicly love his products on his FB Fan page, plus we taught the guy how to search for hashtag [his business name] on Twitter and he has caught a few people talking about his products that way as well.

On-page SEO seemed to help a lot and they do have a facebook/twitter page. I have been thinking about adding pinterest but I'm not sure how to use it to drive traffic to this site.. are there any examples of how some sites use pinterest I can take a look at? Those help for bringing up traffic from other websites, but what would be the best way to build traffic from google other than on-page changes?
