    Hi there,
    first of all:
love this forum, there are many tricks I learned from you, thanks for that.

Im running a site in germany so anyone got any experience in SEO in germany?
Many tricks and tools are only useful for english pages i guess. In one thread someone said that it is easier in germany to get a high ranking in the SERPs but i just dont get it.

What would you recommend me to do to get high ranks? Are there any different "special" tricks for european google? Does google care if you get backlinks from US pages for a german page?

Id love to outsource some of the work, but the problem is that i dont know any cheap freelancer who'd be able to do some german stuff.

Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english!

Getting backlinks from US hosted websites will not be as good if you got your backlinks listed on .de sites hosted with a german IP. That is the issue I am going through with a current client trying to rank on google.ch. The backlinks will need to come from other websites hosted in Switzerland and not in the US.

Are you sure about that? This would be really f*** up. Do the backlinks from the USA not count at all or are they just losing some of their power?

Lol, nah they are just a "little" bit weaker, weak enough though to not give lots of PR juice. (Got a couple of .de sites myself).

In general it's good to just make a network of pages get them indexed and then push some juice between them to the big one.

btw. there isn't really anything like digg in germany is there?

you will rank differently in google.com and google.de Backlinks from us based websites (and other countries) will help you mainly rank well in google.com while backlinks from .de based websites will help you rank well in google.de version.

As a matter of fact, all backlinks count, they are not useless no matter whey they came from.

but a better ranking on google.com would probably help to rank better on googe.de too, wouldnt it?
Many german blogs are hosted on blogspot.com and other us bloghosters. so if i put a link there it should be good for the ranking too for example?

    as said before..
it will help to get some links from international sites..
but you will need to have, german links as well..
in fact you need to have more/stronger german links
otherwise g++gle wont think it is relevant for german users..

you can have better results for englisch key words like "hi5 layouts" or "wordpress tools" try it (don't forget the hl=de in the url)
you won't get exactly the same results as a german user (exept your using a german ip).. but you will get a good idea...
