I am wondering what would be a good way to get my products listed quickly on searches. My niche is dealing with equipment and there are only 5 other companies that are in the field I am in. (2 of which pretty much own the top 5 positions)

Now I am kinda lost on where or what to do as far as off-site seo. I am a designer and SEO is new to me. I do not want to try anything BH due to the fact this is a legit business and I dont want to get penalized.

In a nutshell, I offer equipment where visitors will request a quote on them.

All my links are set up great I believe, I have them like
    http://url.com/equipment-category/piece-of-equipment-name/

    • I have gotten my page speeds up in the green and the site is running smoothly with no errors on it.
    • I have submitted my sitemaps to google.
    • All pages and equipment pages are good according to Yoast SEO plugin.
    • All images have alt tags with equipment name.

I believe I have done as much On-Site seo as I can. So any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds Good your On page methods is okay.
But you have to work on Off page methods to improve your revenue.
Build niche relevant backlinks to your site and get social signals for good searches.

Thats the issue, I have no clue where to look to get backlinks. I am checking out the Jack Sporrow thread now to get a kick start on it.

Like I mentioned, I am a SEO Newb and dont even know where to begin with it.

Intstall seo plugin - this is first step. Seo by Yoast for example. Work on product categories and add text there. Work on robots.txt and close everything which is not usefull. Add more description to products. Here basic tips wpsoul.com/optimize-seo-wordpress/
