    Pretty sure not having subcategory there provides less relevance, however, it doesn't matter enough to see a difference. Atleast, not in my experiences.

    Great question!

    Site architecture is a very important piece in designing your website(s).

    Ideally you don't build your site just for SEO purposes only, because time on site (user engagement) is also a factor in SEO. Therefore, the site architecture for both SEO and Users is important.

    With that said, if you are going to build a site, the flatter the architecture the better, however, 2 levels deep is not that big of an issues.

    I'm pretty sure as long as the keyword is in the URL then it'll be fine. Certainly from my experience that's been the case anyway.
