I recently changed my blog's address from domain.com to www.domain.com is there an SEO difference to this? I ask because in Google it links to domain.com not www.domain.com. I'm very tech savvy, but this perplexes me.

There is no seo difference. For whatever reason google has decided to use the non www. Version.

If I was you I would set a redirect from your www. Version to you non www. Version.

^yes it doesn't matter at all, but whichever you chose, you should setup a redirect.

Yeah there's no difference as far as SEO is concerned.
But probably to avoid duplicate indexing, a .htaccess redirect is very necessary.

Well the domain.com automatically goes to www.domain.com now because I setup a CDN that requires you to use www.

That is also fine, google will adjust to the www. Version in time.

You should redirect one to another. With or without www makes a difference as they are two different urls.

Just to make myself clear, they do not make a difference as one is better than the other etc but they are different urls.

Links you build for www do not count for the url without www or for www.domain.com/index.php etc

If you rank or if you have links pointing to one version do a simple 301 redirect to the other version.

I know that he is not that famous on BHW but check this post

I just noticed this today (which brought me to this thread).

All of my sites are in the domain.com format.
When I type in www.domain.com though, it automatically redirects to domain.com

I don't ever recall going through the process of setting up a 301 redirect but if it's doing it already, is it necessary?

And to clarify, when I'm building links, I've been doing so in the http://domain.com format.

Is there anything that I'd need to change?
