We have a blog about electronic / digital music. We started posting popular tracks like Rihanna, LMFAO, etc.

    Some stats (daily):
    - ~300 unique visitors
    - 0.3% conv. rate (Leadbolt)
    - EPC $0.01

If anyone has similar site, what's your EPC, conversion rate, daily revenue and how many unique visitors you get everyday? Can you post or PM some screenshots?

I mean, should I mark it as a dead project and move on, or continue to put effort and money into SEO?

Well, honestly why would they want to fiddle around with doing offers when they could head over to the pirate bay and get the discography for doing nothing. You have to either scale up your efforts and establish a brand name and get your download links out there, or just settle for what you are getting.

I've chosen Leadbolt because they support postback. The thing is, I don't know which offers to select, because our traffic is mostly UK; so if your network has any form of postback, or gets a higher EPC/CPC, you can send me an affiliate link and I'm okay with it.

For the TPB comment (torrents) - this doesn't apply. The tracks we publish are at most 4 weeks old and they are bestsellers on big music stores (like iTunes). So content is good and our promotional services are completely legitimate.

if your content is not easily available elsewhere (for free) then 3% is really awful, should be more like 10-15% at least

It's going really slow and converting randomly. I think my traffic is scared of CPA offers I don't know why.

    - ~500 unique visitors from search traffic
    - conversion rate: 2.69%
    - EPC $0.03
    - revenue this month: $12.13 (484 clicks, 13 conversions)
    - site search: 8,550 results

It's like shit and it puzzles me 'cause I don't know what to do more. Even if I up the search traffic and content, there's no guarantee of a steady minimum conversion.

Well the main thing you need to be concentrating on is traffic.

Your conversion ratio isnt crazily bad, 2.69% is still pretty good thats 27 conversions ever 1k visitors.

At the moment just concentrate on traffic, then once you have the traffic you can tweek your pages to increase conversions.

Just keep going with seo and add in some social traffic from twitter and facebook etc and you will do well :)

If you put it that way, it's actually 27 conversions every 6,500v, given a 15% CTR. And there's no guarantee of that.

But I will be focusing on organic traffic. Hopefully it will light up the situation better.

I'm currently having a similar situation with some of my traffic, too. The same people that will gladly enter their full name, email, sometimes address and valid credit card info for a free offer - won't click "I like pizza hut better" and enter their email!

I just got off Skype with a friend, big-time marketeer. To sum it up,

If your blog is about some shit and you're hinting with unrelated offers (even with related ones - be those free, mobile, zips, etc) the actions from their mindsets don't include either filling CPA or even being drawn away from what they want, AT ALL.

They're only willing to indulge some of that if the pressure is high enough, like loosing the NFL match that particular night or something like that.

Right now I'm thinking about BS-ing with "Your IP address is being held for criminal investigations for illegal downloads. To permanently clean your records subscribe to an offer. "... or something....

On the internet, i have learnt by painful experience that, the secret is in the numbers. Your doing 500 now and you want conversion to go up, Then feed the site more traffic. What you should be working on is more traffic and not higher conversion, cos at the end of the day the user can always got to another site to download whatever he wants. Think of it this way. You have 300 visitors and 20 conversions, or you have 900 visitors with 60 conversions and the more visitors the easier it is for you to figure out how to increase conversion. So, get out and find more traffic first, and try different countries, if your concentrating on the us conversion will be different than when your trying to convert south-africa.
