SEO Agency/Freelancers - what monthly activity do you carry out for clients with a $1000 budget?

    For clients signing up to a 6 month retainer with a budget of $1000 a month - what activity
    Wouldyou carry out month on month ?

    For $1000/mo I would do a deep SEO audit in the first month. That typically produces 25-50 pages of prioritized findings. Then each subsequent month I would try to address part of the document with the client. Hopefully crossing off issues in the report serves as a good progress indicator until you get SEO revenue reporting dialed in.

    Once all the critical issues are dealt with then you go into growth tuning. There is a lot more experimentation and A/B testing when you start growth hacking. But like any other marketing channel ultimately you want to demonstrate ROI on the channel spend. Even if you don't recoup all the cost directly you can demonstrate how SEO lifts all boats for sales and that some of your value is in boosting the other marketing channels as well but still be totally transparent and honest with your revenue attribution. When successful this has the awesome effect of locking out any SEO competitors from moving in on your business. If you are a known quantity with ROI then changing SEOs would be risking that.
