    Now serious: It really depends on a lot of factors, sometimes it takes me a couple of days to rank, sometimes it takes me weeks to rank for an even easier keyword.

    Don't lose courage! If you done some link building for a low competition keyword, you should see some results within the first couple of weeks. Otherwise your keyword isn't as easy to rank for, as you thought it was.

    i have a similar problem.. my website is not even indexed after 2 days, should i start to worry?
    I keep on thinking about one thing: my wp theme has some links about "buying backlinks" in the bottom part, and you need to purchase it to make them go away. do you think that may infuence google?

    Yes they are indexed. I always do around 10 bookmarks, 20 blog comments, social networking and web 2.0 and ping them. Okay, thank you! :)

    9 days is nothing, especially if it's a keyword-rich site, and depending on your niche you could be waiting over 6 months for any rankings for any keywords at all. Keep working, don't give up.

    As a guy said above, there is hundreds of factors that could be affecting your ranking.

    First of all - ditch that theme, there's plenty of nice free ones without spammy links on them.

    Second - If you don't want a new theme, edit the themes footer.php and remove the lines that contain the footer links.

    Third - If you're working with wordpress a lot, get to grips with .css and PHP.

    Fourth - Two days? It can take a lot longer than that, but also a lot shorter too, it varies, have you submitted to webmaster tools? Do you have a good sitemap?

    Fifth - Keep working on your sites, make them awesome, forget about backlinks and being indexed.... because if you make your site awesome, you will get some nice links and be indexed anyway.

    This theme looks sooo perfect..

    Second - If you don't want a new theme, edit the themes footer.php and remove the lines that contain the footer links.

    here's what you find in footer:

    // All links in the footer should remain intact.
    // These links are all family friendly and will not hurt your site in any way.
    // Warning! Your site may stop working if these links are edited or deleted

    // You can buy this theme without footer links online at...

    Third - If you're working with wordpress a lot, get to grips with .css and PHP.

    I'm trying to learn as much as i can but i'm at the very beginning!

    Fourth - Two days? It can take a lot longer than that, but also a lot shorter too, it varies, have you submitted to webmaster tools? Do you have a good sitemap?

    I have made a sitemap with a wp plugin and submitted to google, bing and yahoo

    Fifth - Keep working on your sites, make them awesome, forget about backlinks and being indexed.... because if you make your site awesome, you will get some nice links and be indexed anyway.

    I have added 1 article a day 1000+ words. i will probably post one more today then i will start again on monday. content is high quality.

    Probably the best way to get indexed quickly is identi.ca or Digg

    Google is picking up their new posts continually.

    If that doesn't work there is a load of free SEO software on http://eazywp.com - Start again there !

    It sounds like you're using a theme from newwpthemes, right?

    Do this, backup your functions.php to a .txt file first incase you screw up.

    Find these lines in functions.php and either comment out ( using //) or delete them.

    wp_initialize_the_theme_load();

    and the whole line that has this:

    wp_initialize_the_theme_finish

    lower down in the code, get rid of this one:

    function wp_initialize_the_theme_load() { if (!function_exists("wp_initialize_the_theme")) { wp_initialize_the_theme_message(); die; } }

    Then go to header.php and delete these (all close together near the top).

    <?php function wp_initialize_the_theme() { if (!function_exists("wp_initialize_the_theme_load") || !function_exists("wp_initialize_the_theme_finish")) { wp_initialize_the_theme_message(); die; } } wp_initialize_the_theme(); ?>

    Hope that helps. Check your theme out and source code, I never trust themes from that site, they rip themes and modify them with hard-to-remove links in them. You can be punished in the SERPS for linking to spam, so for your own sake and SEO work, give the theme the once over.

    First of all, thanks! a lot!
    But I have one more question before doing what you said:
    can i get into trouble? Will i violate some copyright law doing that?
    If those links are a serious issue and i can get into trouble by removing them that way I'd rather find a new theme.. I am a newbie so I prefer to keep it as whitehat and clean as possible...

    No you will not get into any trouble at all, if anyone is likely to get into trouble it's those that rip the themes in the first place, even they will probably be fine.

    For example the Wo0Themes are public, if you buy one you can modify it, share it, copy it, sell it, do anything you want with it.

    You must wait for at least one month, then judge, also after panda the website must gain some authority in the eyes of Google to start ranking and authority takes some time.

    Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, I made a post today, hand written on my fully white hat site that Google loves and it was on the first page for it's title in a couple of minutes.

    On the other hand, one of my main money sites took over nine months to rank for anything at all.

    It goes something like this:

    Brand new keyword rich site with spammy backlinks - slow results.

    Naturally written, aged, trusted white-hat site - instant results.

    But not always....
