The guy I go to do taxes said he'd pay me 20 dollars for the first 5 people I send him and for every person after that hed split how much he charges them 50/50 with me anybody got any ideas for ways to bring him people!

I know he doesn't do much advertising at all besides word of mouth I was thinking about putting flyers in all the apartment buildings around the area and what not. I still need some more ideas if any body can share any it would be much appreciated!

$20 for the first 5 people or $20 per person for the first 5 people? In either case $20 doesn't sound like a whole lot for delivering him a lead. Lifetime value for an accountant is pretty high I assume, he should be able to psy more than that.

Also, 50/50 split sounds good - but how are you going to enforce it? Sure, you could get a local number that redirects to his land line and record all calls. This allows you to know how many sales you get him. But as an accountant, he would have a lot of repeat business... so are you going to get 50/50 of the first appointment only, or 50/50 over the lifetime of the client?

Before you get in to lead generation, you need to have this stuff down pat...

You can generate leads in any way you see fit. We're meant to be marketers here.. offline ads, online ads, etc etc.

Get a phone number you can forward, I use Vumber.

Create a QR code for the phone number.

Pass out cards with the QR code on it and tell them to scan the qr code with their barcode scanner in their phone and it will call the tax pros.

Forward your vumber number to the tax pro.

The virtual phone service will track all incoming phone numbers, along with caller id info.

Pass these numbers to your tax professional and anyone whose number is on the list is your customer, even if they did not say you sent them.

Better though to do it this way:

    Create a coupon code.

Create a QR code to save the coupon code as a text file.

Create cards with the QR code on them, and offer the customer $5 off if they use the coupon code.

They will scan it into their phone, and they will remember to give the code when they have their taxes done or they will not get the discount.

You eat the discount, but you get much better conversions, because they will not forget to give the code, and the code is your proof that the customer is yours.

You can create different codes for the various areas you pass them out, so you can see which areas give you the best results.

You can also carry around a picture of the QR code in your phone and let them scan with theirs.

You can create the QR codes for others who are refering people to the tax pro, and charge him to set up each affiliate with the system.

If you hand out flyers or do anything marketing related in your town I would suggest to make sure he's cool with it before distributing materials. Long time ago I started a company and first promoted it by putting flyers on cars and made a deal with a couple newspaper kids to include my flyer with their deliveries. No more than a couple days pass and I started getting calls from people complaining and threatening me with messing with their vehicles or property, lol. Make sure you don't put anything in peoples' mailboxes...that is illegal. I believe same with stapling flyers to telephone polls but that may depend on the county you reside in.
