Hey peeps,

I was thinking about selling some custom edit/production jobs on fiverr.

But should i even try? because there is soooo much competition.

I think my work is pretty unique but i dont wanna put hours of work into optimizing my gigs only for a few sales.

What is your guys experience?

Optimizing GIG is very easy, You have to build trust day by day by getting 5 star review. then you will become top rated seller one day.

if it takes you hours to set a fiverr gig then fiver is not for you

I would think the same; if you can't slap together your product in a short period of time you are losing money. Now, if you are able to capture the client, upsell them, perhaps get their contact info and build a client list, then it may be worth your while.

My experience says that just for the $4,do that work which does not require too much effort.
Using automation or bots are cool for fiverr.

Unless you can turn things around quickly without putting in too much effort, fiverr doesn't really work as a business model. Try advertising your services somewhere like Elance instead.

I actually listed about 8 GIGS on Fiverr all about Logo intro's.

I put up a "slideshow video" GIG once, took me about 1/2 hours each order..

The slideshow gig is only to get my reputation up since that one just simply sells.

Though those other 7 are GIGS i can complete within 5 minutes.

And yes there is a shitload of other sellers but it's all about your seller status i guess..

Long story short, Yes do it, no don't do 1/2 hour gigs.

Yes you can. You can actually sell the animated whiteboard videos there. I used to do that for my services.since there are no advertising costs on our part, being tricky in the product cost, will get you more sales.

You will be burned if taking the project.

Unless you hire someone else to do it. And you get a 50%

Put your gig on the fiverr. Contact someone in hire a freelancer to leave you a few feedbacks on the fiverr and you are ready to go. All you need then is to wait for first orders.

Just do it... If u don't try u won't learn from mistakes... U have to try to see if your ideas will succeed.

As others have stated, if you can't complete a Gig within half-an-hour, don't offer that Gig on fiverr. They take away 20% of your earnings and on top of that, Paypal also takes their share when you withdraw.

I offer several animation Gigs on fiverr. Each of them is based on a template, so it takes minimal time to customize them for customers. The hard part in fiverr is building your reputation. People don't want to purchase Gigs from a seller who has a no reviews. You have two options here:
1) Offer extra value to the first 20 customers or so. When I started-out, I offered free FULL-HD for the first 20 customers.
2) Buy reviews. There are several threads on BHW on this regard.

Once you build your reputation and if your Gig is an easy one, you can make a profit from fiverr. Otherwise, you're better off offering your services on sites like Elance, Guru, oDesk and Freelancer.

From my experience, the best option for video production services is to start your own website. You have to invest more time in building a website, but ultimately, it's yours; in the sense that you don't have to pay-out 20% of your earnings to someone else.

Instead of writing thread here you could post you gig on fiverr. I also started with huge competition on fiverr and managed somehow to put my fiverr gig on top. You can also buy reviews anytime you want.

I was in the same mindset as OP til I discovered that for $3.60 you'll need outside repeat clientele to make the cheddar. I usually go into the niches with the most competition because everyone wants to buy.

May be you need to put some effort initially. Prepare your own unique templates so that you can fulfill the orders in a short time. Also, focus on upselling different features of the video. In any case, you will not know if it works, until you try.

Im willing to start on fiver video editing intros, and I would like to know how to start to make some money in order to pay my fees. Im just a beginner
And thanks in advance.

I am a level 2 seller for 2 years on Fiverr so I know that there is indeed a fierce competition on Fiverr because I am one of them. But you said your gig will be unique and if you put yourself in your customer's shoes and find your own gig appealing and irresistible then go for it. Fiverr for me is the best place to list your service compared to other places because it will give you sales the fastest time possible.

If you are putting a lot of hours into your work then selling on Fiverr would not be worth it and I would consider trying to get more for your work. Have you considered maybe making small sample video's that you can may be show as a way of helping you gain more exposure and interest to be able to succeed?

This was my scheme. Video service gig went nuts and boosted my profile for one week to Level 2 seller (profile was sitting with no gigs for 5 months though).

I did custom and pro intros for youtube up to 10 seconds. No templates. First 15 orders were with no extras, after that the sum for a 10 second video with sound effect + music + FULL HD would come up to $45 per order. $70 for intro outro.

You need hardcore knowledge for AE to do this fast but here is the sweet part. I made my own website and now I am outsourcing my clientele from Fiverr for more complicated and larger projects... so OP , it's a good place to start.
