I was just sitting around drinking a beer and researching some shit online for a new idea I had about selling some stuff on ebay. I saw that some shit on there is new and some shit is sold as used. Well that just gave me a brain-fart about something and I thought I would bring the discussion here just for amusement.

Perhaps I have a rewritable CD or DVD that I just happened to have recorded Justin Beiber or Slipnots newest album on, or some new movie that was recently released. I get in a bind and need to sell some shit and decide to sell these "used" rewritable discs.

    Example ads:

For sale: Rewritable dvd... Only used once to record The Hangover part=5. Data not removed but instructions included to remove data for rewrite.

For sale: Used CDRW... Used once to copy Kid Rock, Born Free! Must remove data to rewrite. Instructions included.

This is nothing that I would try and I would not recommend it to anyone as copyright infringement is a pretty damn serious offense (at least here in the U.S.)... I really just wanted to discuss what yall think about it.

I mentioned Ebay at the beginning only because some auctions there gave me the idea. Might not be a new idea but it is new to me.

There are tons of things that can be written to a disc and sold as "a used disc"... Maybe someone here can use this idea to make a ton of money. Might be the new file sharing trend. Might not be shit!

Discuss accordingly but don't flame or ask me questions cause I just pulled this out of my ass. I don't even burn cd's or dvd's.

Maybe a few years ago you could do that not now though. I used to sell hardrives of mp's and films, and they were ok at the time, but they clamped heavily down on it, and copyright eagles work full time finding stuff like this to report.

I was just researching on Ebay when the thought hit me.... Ebay would be out of the question.

Was just throwing this out for someone with the balls to take the next step... Not for the weak-hearted or someone that doesn't have bullet-proof hosting!

well that was a smart one OP! try making DVD's and CD's with linux distros and sell them you will be surprised to see people do buy them! as an incentive say you are providing instructions and tutorial, doenload some pdf from net and send it thru.

you can earn pretty decent through it.
linux is opensource its free all you charging for is writing it up and sending it through!

    tried ,tested and working!
