If you are selling access to the member's area of a site through a Paypal premium or business account, do they manually review / approve each site or product that you put up? Or do you just sign up for an account and then you can sell / promote whatever you want? Thanks.

They will review your website if it triggers a review. They will ban some business types and do so very quickly if they feel a need too.

Thanks... Do they review the member's area and your product or just the sales page with their link on it?

Basically what I am asking is: if someone tries to sell content of dubious ownership, is Paypal going to give them the boot?

I'm talking about general alternative health / self help / info product type stuff, not make money online or anything like that.

They can review anything they please, at anytime. If multiple customers chargeback (dispute) and that causes flags they make take a deeper look than if they just get a single complaint. Just run a good clean operation.

BHW uses PayPal for its memberships right and we talk about how to lift restrictions, unfreeze funds, and make fake PP's all the time. I think you will be fine :)

Hey Autumn! I am really happy to finally share some experience instead of asking for yours! I have been doing a really decent volume of sales for the past 6 months with paypal. There was no approval procedure for me since I started selling with my verified account (not a business one). So after making my very first sale they called me minutes after saying that the product I am selling is against their TOS and I must take down the paypal link of my site (so as their logo :) )

When it comes to limitations they are pretty strict but not as wise as I expected. Firstly, they threatened to limit my account due to high disputes/chargebacks volume (it was about 2.9% and as their representative claimed 3% is the total maximum). I somehow managed to lower that number to ~1.5% and I was feeling pretty safe BUT one day I experienced a nice traffic/sales (~200%) spike and hours after that they limited my account due to the 'high risk' of my business and their experience with businesses like mine. I don`t want to disclose my niches publicly but feel free to P.M me!

    Don't touch the REP!

Ha ~ I'm gonna share this with you just because I guess to show how they are.

I was testing a sales script on a new virgin domain that I hadn't done anything with
yet or even published. This domain had a completely BLANK index.php page and that
was all. Never registered nor published before. I intended to use the sales script on a
completely different domain if it was successful and did what I wanted it to do, etc.

I set the script up with my personal PP account and made a test purchase with my
    biz PP account.

They CANCELED my personal account the next day because selling pornography
is against their TOS, etc. :wt:

After much frustration and going round n round with them for two days about it was
NOT a porno site, and I was just testing, etc, and it was going to be on a different
domain, etc, I come to find out they based their decision on the fact that the domain
name had "XXX" in it and furthermore it was a
    FINAL decision!

A totally BLANK site without a word on it!

Yes, the domain was headed for the cumdumpster eventually but that's beside the point!

    Enjoy ..... :cool2:

Beware of paypal if your mixing different businesses in the same paypal account.

Another thing they do not like and you can learn the hard way as Clthis mentioned.... If one account get a lot of chargeback, your account will be limited until they figure out and have more information on your business and .... you :)

If you use business account, you need invoices from suppliers. They often request invoices .
