Hi, I have seen this happening couple of times already - guys come out with kick ass idea but they lack money. They go and ask community for donations in exchange for shares. How they are doing this? It is lawful? There are some like payment processors supporting this?

Well I'm to sure to be honest I know the forum doesn't allow groups buys for software so I doubt they'd allow this. Which is fair because people can easily be scammed.
People generally don't want to invest there money in to people they don't know much about, how can they trust them and know they will come through with the goods?

I'm sure a mod will comment on this thread soon anyway :)

That not the answer to my question.
I am asking because I find some nice projects come out from this kind of partnership.
If I was up to starting collections I would go to one of the admins or moderators and ask for permission for sure. Anyways I dont want to do this, just wondering about how this can be done actually...
