im thinking about buying a huge amount of 2nd hand clothes in my 3rd world country (20kg in total) and then taking them all with me to the tier 1 country pretending that im gonna use those clothes since they're all 2nd hand, and then selling them all on facebook marketplace & paid promotion as well, and the payment method will only be '' pay at the door '' because the city that im gonna go to is small so i can take the products to my customer's home using a bicycle, and when i run out of clothes, i can buy another 20kg 2nd hand clothes on the internet in my 3rd world country and then i can make my parents to send that clothes to the tier 1 country that in in,

i can make 2 - 3 euros profit for each clothes. my concern is, do you think that tier 1 country is gonna cause a trouble when my parents keep sending me around 20kg clothes each month ?? i know that paying for each 1kg for shipping costs some money but after selling everything i have i still make a good profit.

i was thinking of a project like this, what do you think ??

Which tier 1 country you are talking about US, UK or Canada ?

Going to a tier 1 country with a business idea that will make 250-300 euros (in the best scenario) per month is frankly a stupid idea, especially for someone who is from a third-world country.

I'd keep brainstorming if I were you, there are so many other ideas to make good money.

The funny part that most second hand ("thrift") comes from tier 1/2 countries,
Check whenever there are local companies in there already exporting to these 3rd world countries,
Any nearby countries companies would make it even easier for the shipment

if you pack a lot of clothes in your suitcase and make constant trips on the same routes, this may attract the attention of the authorities, as you are not allowed to carry commercial items in your suitcase, only personal items

it might work for the first few trips (which can also be risky, as it might not be convincing to carry 20kg of pure clothes in your suitcase for ''personal use'')

be careful

There's something called custom duty other than shipping cost. Rates are different for each country.
What makes you think this is a sustainable business model? There are budget clothing options in every country. Big companies import clothes from Bangladesh, China, India, Vietnam etc for cheap. I'm going to suggest you to do a trial run and not pin your hopes on this definitely working out.

Like others have said, doesn't sound like a great idea because from my pov, the profit margin is too low. Think bigger. Maybe buying those clothes from China instead?

You're going to have to do a heck of work to convince them to buy the clothes I think.

Keep searching if you may. But there's no harm in trying if you really wanna give this a shot.

That is a really good idea you just need to work the logistic to get that cloth, but yeah I saw that and is profitable
Edit
Also marketing is important because what platform you will use to sell your product? you will need to start sharing the page with friends and family and do some camaping or ads to get discoverability.

im thinking about facebook paid promotion targeting local area + popups & popads and again targeting that specific city, i don't know if popads would work or not but i can get 20 thousand traffic a day from popads, im gonna promote several different items, i will mention PAY AT THE DOOR in the titles, maybe that'll get their attention

pay at the door is definitely attractive, gives confidence they will see the product on their hands that really is a plus and yeah traffic of 20k uff will do good plus people sharing the page.
