    Hello guys,

If I have ways of driving traffic to my listings (paid advertising, facebook etc etc) do you think it's a good idea to sell on "ebay alternatives" like ecrater.com or Bonanza.com?

I've being selling on ebay but I have noticed that all the sales I made were from the visitors I drove from other means like advertising etc. I think, with ebay's fees, limits and everything it's not worth it anymore. I have seen many posts about people selling on their own eCommerce sites.

Will buyers be reluctant to buy from an unfamiliar place? And what about paypal's 21 day hold? Does paypal hold your funds for 21 days even if you sell on other eCommerce sites?

I would go with your own site if ebay isnt an option. I imagine you would lose a lot of sales just from people not being bothered to sign up for an account on those sites.

Thanks for the reply my friend. The good news is, a buyer doesn't have to have an account to buy from ecrater.com. I'm not sure about Bonanza though :/

If you can drive traffic from outside Ebay to your site, I'd say go for it and see how it works. At first some people might think twice before buying from an unfamiliar site but maybe you can direct those to Ebay by using an exit pop-up or something like that.
