Won an auction on another domain, but it doesn't expire and get transferred to me till the 20th. Should I list it on Flippa now or wait till it's transferred to me? Auctions take days so it shouldn't be a problem right?

If you won the domain on GoDaddy auctions there's a slim chance that it won't be transferred to you (i.e. if the original owners pays GoDaddy to keep it). Plus, Flippa will require you to prove ownership before listing the domain, and you won't be able to do that because you are not the owner yet.

Just wait until the domain is yours, then list it.

+ even if u win domain you wouldn't be allowed to transfer it outside of godaddy for another month is them ant-fraud protection

I would wait for it to settle and for the minimum transfer period expires before adding it to Flippa. It's the only way to be sure you won't look like a scammer if you sell and don't deliver.

It's not a term specific to auctioned domains, it applies to all domain ownership changes on GoDaddy:

  1. By entering into a change of registrant transaction, you acknowledge and agree that the domain name may not be transferred to another domain name registrar within sixty (60) days after the completion of the change of registrant transaction (the ?Transfer Prohibition Period"). Therefore, if either the Current Registrant or the New Registrant anticipate the need to transfer the domain name to another domain name registrar within sixty (60) days after completion of the change of registrant transaction, the Current Registrant and the New Registrant should make arrangements to transfer the domain name to the new domain name registrar first, and make any necessary changes to the domain name registrant second.
  2. In addition, in the event the domain name is subject to a subsequent change of registrant transaction within the Transfer Prohibition Period, the Transfer Prohibition Period will begin again upon completion of the subsequent change of registrant transaction.

Well I'm done with them... I can't wait 60 days to sell....was going to try and flip domains full time. Would 1and1 be better or do they have a hold on it too?

brah i feel ya i got my self 22 domains there blow a lot $$$ on them and now stuck not sure what to do with them haha
never again lol

Build some sites, wait 60 days and flip for even more cash!

My thing is if you build a site people will want to know what the income is and that's what will determine how much you can sell if for. If you just sell the domain you can over exaggerate and build up the possibilities in their head, and they may see something 10x greater.

Are you really interested in buying domain names related to the weight loss and/or fat loss industry ? So, if i have one to sell then high chance you might buy it ?

Trying to find a way around it......anyone know a way?

You guys are confusing transferring domains with pushing domains.

With GD you can't transfer a domain for 60 days (move it to another registrar) but you can push a domain to a new buyer on GoDaddy which transfers ownership and give the new buyer the domain immediately once it's in your account.

I've purchased auction domains and just stipulate in the listings that I will push the domain to the buyer's GoDaddy account immediately after payment. If the buyer wants to transfer the domain to another registrar than that is his business and he'll discover he'll have to wait 60 days before he can transfer it. I've pushed domains the same day I got the auction domain to another GoDaddy account without any issues.

60 day lockdown isn't a problem if you are selling on Flippa as you can always push the domain to the buyers account or if the buyer doesn't have an account on GD, just request them to make it. No big deal
