Hi,
I think I've done everything I can with this site, so I'm looking to sell it. I tried to use the search function but I think this is more or less an individual question.

I am going to be getting about 2k-2.5k hits this month. All of it is targetted. It's a site that has every Family Guy episode on it.

Here's kind of my dilemma:

First off - would this site even stand a chance to be sold with just 2k-2.5k UV's?
Second - About how much could I get, in your opinions?
And third - Do you know about the process of transferring the site? I use a free host (000webhost.com) and I have a few other sites hosted on my account there. They are NOT huge sites though...some of them are virtually useless. Basically, only one other site I really need, but I could just create a new account and host it there.

Would they be paying first and then I give them the password, or what?

I feel bad making these threads, because I don't think I've given anything back to this community yet. One of these days once I develop a method that works for me, I'll be glad to post my ways.

I appreciate all your replies,
Mike.

Forget selling it.

You need these.

1) Backlinks
2) Page Rank
3) Monthly revenue

Then you could sell.

Tons of backlinks - Very little monthly revenue (Like $10-$15 off CPALead and like $2 off AdSense) - No Page Rank.

OK - thanks.

Get it to 50$ a month, leave it for 6 months and sell for 500$ What website is it ? lol I like family guy.

Not sure of what sites sell for on sitepoint. But I know if i were buying a site id be looking for a little monthly revenue unless I was planning on developing it a lot. I get the feeling that people on sitepoint are looking for sites that will just earn them money without doing anything. maybe im wrong.

By the way anyone have an idea of what a site that makes $400 a month would go for on sitepoint? Sorry

Couldn't I make up crap that I don't try to monitize it? And then I can take the CPALead offers down as well as the AdSense? Just say I get visitors and then sell it on SitePoint?

Sitepoint is awesome if you have good sites to sell. Had a few up and got about 28K for one.

--vivalafeva: $400 a month would go for about 3K depending on how much work is required and type of content

OP

Don't lie on SitePoint. Just inflate your traffic for a month if you want to go through all that. Or link build and promote for 2 months straight. Then sell.

You would get about $500 now

3k? nice. its zero work. Its actually a parked domain.

I would take $500 in a second! :)

I'm only 15, and that $500 would be great for as little work as I did.

Should I just tell them - I get 2k-2.5k a month - here's my StatPress screenshot. I get about $10-$15 through CPALead.com offers and another $2 on AdSense a month.

If I said that - would I still get $500?

Well I wouldnt go as far to say that it wouldnt sell because I have sold sites on there that were 5 days old with little revenue, 0 pr or backlinks. Its all about what people are looking for. I would say if you arent worried about losing the listing fee and have an amount in mind that you want for it. List it and start it for at least $10 more than the listing fee. Put the reserve at 2xs that and see where it goes.

Viva I could easily sell a site making 400 a month for 4500 on SP if it requires no work.

Maybe there's a better way to monitize this site getting 2k+ UV's a month?

There's my stats - site started in mid-February.

Luck is a one of the factors you will need in finding fools at sitepoint.

But even before that, I have seen junk sites go for $5000+, I am not sure how the sitepoint system works but from my experience if you do feature listing and give really detailed information someone will bid.

I think sites like yours should receive 1-2k hits a day. Video sites do good and sell for tons at sitepoint..

I wish I could get 1-2k hits a day. That'll never happen, as I hover from 100-200 hits each day.

I guess I'll make a listing.

I should do startup site, right?
