    I recently received this email:

I immediately checked and found that the domain he was so kindly offering to procure for me was available for anyone to register. However, I'm sure there are a percentage of people who would see such an email and take him up on his deal without due diligence. Let's say 1 in 500 turns into a sale? Not a bad little business if you can scrape several thousand existing domains' contact info per day with similar available TLDs.

This is similar to the letters I get from some company "reminding me" to renew my domain before it expires in 6 months.

That's straight up sneaky shit, lol.

A similar method was being done around locally offering people a copy of their home deed for 100$ when they can just go down and get it from the city for $10.

This was sent by snail mail though.

I had someone bother the shit out of me with such an email. They would not quit and kept trying to convince me that this big company is interested in these domains and that if they commit, i will loose all my business... Lol

I get these all the time. So annoying. I like to mess with them, I can't stand email spam. I'll write them back acting like I'm interested but scared, I ask for a shitload more info then I ask the dumbest questions, one at a time, for 2-3 weeks. I'll then usually ask them if they can call me and I give them a phone sex number that I know has live operators who answer.

If they email me back, usually shocked that they accidentally called a phone sex line, they're getting pissed so I get them to mail me the number back, and I tell them I messed up and the correct number is x-xxx-xxx.... which is a number in india to a friend of mine who will lead them on for 30 mins or so and then start asking them stupid unrelated questions and such.

The conversations usually ends with his line "please, tell me sir, do you like butthole pleasures?". lol. Me and my buds sit on a third line sometimes just laughing it up. Yes, evil I know, but I have no mercy for unsolicted email spam. :D

I even have a letter on my desk from "Domain Registar Of America" reminding me a domain will expire soon but they can secure it for me for another year for only $30 :D I should send them an email....such a great deal. :D
