    Hey guys,
Welcome! I hope we both will learn something from this Journey here.
    About me:
I've tried a journey before and when things got though I decided to focus on my career instead of taking the extra step into IM. Now in the past year I've been working as head of sales in a SaaS startup and got some really good knowledge and insights about how to run an online business, how to sell etc.
Even though things are going good with it, I can't stand the feeling of working monday - friday for the next 30-40 years. I don't have anything against working, in fact I love it, but I hate that I don't have a choice in the matter.
So the reason for this journey is to become a full time Internet Marketer to be able to control my own time exactly the way I see fit. I will most likely be working 10+ hours every day but I will do it because I decide to, not because I have to.
I will work on it slow and steady, after my day job. Have a decent amount of startup capital to invest + can put in a decent chunk every month as well.

    Now about the Journey:
I will do the dropshipping from AliExpress method. I went through a couple of courses on Udemy, got the Ben Malol Marketing MasterClass and have watched a gazillion videos as well.

Shop is set up, I have currently 7 items in it and just started to promote 2 of them with facebook ads.
Will see which converts better and then start to optimize with that one. If neither convert this week at least once, will choose the next 2-3 products to test.
I have set up paypal payment method, waiting for a credit card processor to accept my application (2checkout denied it since I need 90 days worth of steady sales to be accepted. Applied to Paymill. If I will get denied there as well, will send out applications to every single one that is accepted where I live).

I would like to end the first post here with a reference to a really good post that everyone has already read 10x in this forum. But I encourage you to read it once more if you are struggling to get started:

While I wish you every success, only 7 products? Not much of a store for visitors

    I agree, 7 isn't nowhere enough.
I just wanted to start testing already and will also keep adding items into the shop as I am testing some of them.
Plan to add 2-3 items to it per day for the next few weeks so that I would have 20-30 items in there in total.

    Thanks!
Today sorted out my columns in facebook ads. They were a huge mess and couldn't really get any valuable info out of it so now it's sorted.
2 items testing currently, in Sunday will add 3 new items to testing.

    First goal :
    Make 1 sale.
    Deadline:
    End of next week.

    Lets do this!

    Thanks!
Was away from thursday - sunday and left the ads run.
So far no sales and CPM was really high for some reason on the conversion ads.
Also got an update from the payment processor, will get all the necessary files to them today and will see if I get accepted.
In the mean time, will choose 3 new products and put everything in place. once I can accept credit card payments will make ads live for them.

While waiting for the reply from the processor, changed the ad type to traffic from conversions.
Had an item where people shared and liked the ad a lot, but not many clicks and CPM was out of this world. Seeing if traffic campaign will change that.
Also yesterday got 1 add to cart, which wasn't followed through. But that's the first step, next is a sale :)

    Quick question to everyone:
Is there something really wrong with these numbers or do they generally just mean the ad sucked?
Type : Conversion and pixel is for website clicks
    Reach : 1755
    Unique link clicks 7
    CPM: $14.24
    Total cost : $25.26

Seems way off to me. Thanks!

    UPDATE:
Got an offer from the payment processor Paymill. Accepted it, now waiting for them to activate my merchant account.

Adding several new apps to my shop, once merchant acc is created will try the free shipping method with a new product.

Learned a lot about FB ads in the mean time. Will test 1 product at a time with 3 different ad sets instead. Have chosen new product to test out already.

Even though I don't have any sales so far, really am loving the whole process of solving issues and finding different angles to approach things.

Bad idea! You already without knowing it building a bad rep for your website!

Either you finish it and launch it ready or you don't launch it. You are missing customers. For example, someone visits your website and thinks, this looks very fishy and cheap, it's not even finished. So a friend of that person somewhere picked up the name of your site and niche and asks his friend " hey, you heard about xxx.com?" and then the friend will say, yeah man, checked it out and it's shit. That's 2 people gone.

Think man! Use your brain! Set an under construction/coming soon page, with maybe a timer and mail form and finish your website first! At least till the point you have a finished product and then you can research what sells and not, add or remove items.

If you start a real store, you open it with just a few items? Without a plan for marketing?

I've been working for 4 months now on 7 websites and none of them are launched yet which results in that I'm the guy with knowledge and broke as Fuck.

On the other hand I see dozens of people spending big money in ads failing hard! And why? Because 9 out of 10 their preparations sucked!

Thanks for the feedback but I have to disagree with this one. A very big problem with everyone is they want to get things just perfect when they launch it and it will never be just perfect. You can always add 1 more product, you can always change that background image or change the shade of green you have your buttons.
Yes, I might be losing a few customers based on that, but those are raindrops in the ocean compared to the experience I am already getting with actually having it launched rather than just tweaking it behind the scenes.
Look at all the softwares out there for example - do they launch it when everything is perfect or when it is still full of bugs and then they start to tweak it and improve it based on the feedback they get?
I know the explanation was pretty black or white, but I much rather launch the store too soon, fail and improve than try to get it just perfect, launch, fail and improve.
For spending money on ads and failing - it doesn't really worry me that much as I am looking at it as an investment of money that I can afford to lose.
A nice video to sum up what I tried to say here:

I'm in every possibly AM FB group and you are wrong! I have seen hundreds of people fail. Most fail because they were unprepared. No such thing as a perfect store but there is a thing as a finished store and from there on you tweak and learn through trial and error.

You need to have a good base before you can even improve, having a shitty base will take improving only longer.

And raindrops in the ocean :D yeah, IF you were making tons having tons of leads until then it are raindrops in the dessert.

People don't fail because they are unprepared, they fail because they give up.
    I'll give you an example:
Someone wants to start working out. Would the smarter move be:
    a) Read for 4 months without stepping into the gym to get a good base knowledge
    b) Go to the gym and do stupid stuff with bad form with really light weights to learn and get experience

Getting tons of leads is easy with paid ads. The difficult part is to get them to convert and I've learned the best way to get them to convert is by actually seeing how they react to your store.

I'm not saying the way you do it is wrong since I don't have any results myself. I just know I learn the fastest by doing and then fixing my mistakes. I don't have anything against failing because I know it is needed to succeed in the long run.

P.S - finished store is a vague term in our chat here. What defines a finished store? 7 items is not enough, but what number is enough?

    Just a small update-
The credit card processor is stalling for some reason, haven't activated my merchant account yet.
Don't want to put ads up again with just paypal as the payment method
Fingers cross, should happen within a few days and after that ads up and ready to start raking in that $$$ (eventually)

    Thanks!
    Small update:
Tried calling the processor who accepted me, not picking up and no response from them so screw it.
Applied to around 10 new processors accepted in my country, got in talks with 1 of them and signed contract. They left a really positive and professional image, quick replies etc.
They said it will take around 7 days to get it all worked out (finding partner in my country to withdraw payments, give all info to set up with shopify etc. + Also don't require registered company (will do it at 1 point definitely).
+The fees total up a lot better than they would've been with the previous processor.

In the mean time so next week will continue to add 2 items per day and then making final design changes, figuring out the exact facebook ads I will put up the moment the payment system is set up.
