Due to my not knowing the negative impact I changed a folder name on my articles, which resulted to google identifying about 30% of my pages with a 404 code. I have made the fix using 301 redirect and slowly making my ranking back.

Here is my question. Assume my 2 keywords are red book and blue book.

Red book was ranking 4 before my folder name change and it went down to 10. After fix in place and 60 days later, It is now up to7.

Blue book was ranking 2 before my folder name change and it went down to 26!!! After fix in place and 60 days later, It is now up to 10.

Why a same mistake, causes different impact on 2 keywords for the same site?
