    Is this a good offer?

    https://flippa.com/2962800-membership-torrent-site-with-business-self-help-dating-health-etc

It used to make a ton of money some years ago according to this listing:

Does anyone know this site? Is it worth it for $500? The risk seems low and the torrents are interesting I like Tony Robbins and such stuff and there is probably a huge demand for it especially in upcoming countries like in ASIA.?

Self-Help is an evergreen niche. There will always be demand. Before you bid, get the whole picture of what it takes to run a torrent site.

I used to use private torrent sites, so I've had a look to see what it's like. Basically the site has no activity, and will need a lot of work to turn it around - if you don't have any expertise in this then you would need to work with someone who has.

To pick at some of the points in the listing:
occasional donations coming in to sometimes cover the expenses - it sounds like the site is only occasionally breaking even, so you will be buying a loss-making site. It could take months to turn it around, during which time you would be losing money.
Buyers should be serious and familiar with torrents and also programming. - it runs on a ready made script, however it's a very old script. The script isn't used any more by any of the popular sites, unless it has a lot of customisations and bug fixes.
Salad users upload torrents most of the time, so you really don't have much to do. - the last upload was one month ago, and there are only about 5 uploads per month, so they're not actively uploading torrents.

You will also need active staff to moderate torrent uploads and forum posts - usually people will do this for free just for the bragging rights of saying they "work" for a torrent site. However, dedicated staff can be hard to find if the site doesn't already have them.

If you decide to buy it and want help turning it around then let me know. I know of several places to promote it, and I can help with getting new material uploaded regularly.

The seller isn't claiming any traffic.

The alexa rank would suggest there is still some traffic going to it, possibly from old members checking for new material, and new users finding the site through old blog posts etc.

Personally I wouldn't touch a loss making site like this, but if I was to buy then when setting my budget I would assume that I have to pay the first year's expenses from my own pocket - so 12 months of $227 hosting, plus a lot of my time, as well as the actual cost of purchasing the site.

However, kudos to the seller for being fairly honest about the site's income (or lack of it), he could have easily skimmed over that to make a quick buck from some unsuspecting buyer. Honesty seems to be a rarity on Flippa these days.
