I've been looking for a good free or inexpensive ranking tracker that will show me historical data on what positions my sites are in daily for keywords that I want to monitor. The best one I've found this far is raventools found here
    Code:
    http://raventools.com/tour/monitor/
but at $99 per month, it's much too steep a price to pay for just that feature.

I prefer an online tool rather than desktop so I'm not hammering my ip daily running a bazillion ranking checks for the tons of sites I need to monitor. So if anyone knows of a good one for around the $20 mark, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think Market Samurai does this, and it's well worth having. If you want to be able to just check your rankings occasionally you can use http://www.seobook.com/ which will give you the report whenever you open it (but you'd have to save reports manually).

Thanks for the tips Nanashi, I actually use both and love SEOBooks Rank Checker. It is by far the easiest, faster lil tool on the market but as you mentioned it does not save any historical data. I have Market Samarai too but don't recall seeing it's ability to track ranks historically. Can anyone else confirm this?

MS will track SERP rankings by using the TRACK Rank feature. RankTracker is a nice alternative, however, I have not bought the Paid editions, so I cannot comment on it's scheduler. See my other thread about the discount I got.

The RankTrack from powersuite is good but you have to pay monthly if you would to use the pro version (on pro you are able to save the projects).
Another good tool is the Traffic Travis. This is the one I'm using right now.

Try Sescout. They have a free trial you can use.

Just searched for it here since it was set up by a BHW member but he has had the ban hammer and his thread has been deleted.

Regardless its free and pretty good.

Rank Tracker from SEO Powersuite is best tool for tracking rank of your keywords... It will show your historical ranking, put it in nice graph, you can also put your competitor in same project and see how they doing for same keywords... You can also use same tool for keyword research... It generates very professional report which you can send to your client... It will also show you which url of your site is ranking for your keyword. it also got inbuilt proxy leecher so it will pull it's own proxy... You can schedule report and can set it to send report automatically to your email address or your client or can upload to your website... Lots of features

Overall I can say best for keyword research and tracking and generating report in my experience... You can find it in download section of forum or you can buy, worth every single penny... It's one time cost for software and it comes with search updates for 6 month which you will have to renew once it's expire... doesn't cost $99/month

Ok thanks for the details on SEO Powersuite, the proxy leecher feature sounds sweet, will definitely experiment. I've been playing with RankRanger and thus far I'm lovin it. It has some really powerful features and even integrates with your google Analytics to show you how much traffic you gained or loss as a result of your ranking flucuation. So it's looking pretty tight thus far. Will play with Powersuite and report back shortly

You might also look into Advanced Link Manager and Advanced Web Ranking. They are both very similar to some of the programs in SEO Powersuite and are closely priced.

I originally was going to purchase the Enterprise version of SEO Powersuite, however, after playing around with the other programs I have decided to get them instead. They have a special available where they will give you Enterprise Edition licenses for both programs if you write a review and send a few links there way. Considering they cost $600 for both that's a very good deal IMHO. Bit of learning curve, yet their instructional booklet is very helpful.

    I hope it helps.
