    Hi guys,

    I was just wondering if anybody knows of a tool or search engine/operator that will allow me to enter a snippet of code as my search term and it will return results showing only websites that contain that code in the source

    ie, only show websites that contain the code snippet
    Code:
    <div align="center" class="copyright">
    The above code is just an example but I would like to find websites that exhibit a specific code footprint if possible...

    A search engine operator I don't know ; but if you have a list of URLs that from you want to keep only URLs where source code contains your string, so you can use ScrapeBox Check Links. Just replace the websites list by your string.
    It's a string checker.

    Hope it helps.

    You can search within HTML source code with Globalogiq's service. As far as I know, thats the only site that does it.

    I know you can check if a page contains like word "copyright" with scrapebox.

    But how to check if a page contains phrase "copyright 2009" using scrapebox? Maybe regex or something?

    I know you can first see if there is word "copyright" and after that if there is word "2009", but i do not want that.

    outsidethesquare,

    I doubt that SEs are indexing HTML stuff also. Just the text it contains. I am also working with an open source index and search library --> normally html is cleaned up. Actually, my feeling tells me indexing html tags does not make too much sense.

    Anyhow, would be great if possible since scraping some stuff would be a lot easier.
