I had 40 domains idexed by g**gle and they were very high ranking, but later on I 301 permant them to ALL to affil. links, and I thougt by making them permanet not temporary that next time page is crawled bot would think it's moved perently, so I would be okay, NOPE now they dropped all 40, so lesson learned is to make doorway pages? sorry n00b ques.

Yeah, setting them on a permanent redirect is a bad idea, because you are basically saying that they no longer, and never will again, have content. G ranks the "real" domain high, but drops the redirects like stones, as being "irrelevant".

so to get around that I want a doorway page? so is that like attacthing the domain to a page that can be crawled, with the bot not knowing that page will re-direct to the user? basically I want my domains ranked, yet re-directed, is that the purpose of a doorway page? sorry n00b

Yes, a doorway page typically redirects the user to another page, in this case, the affiliate offer.

There are pros and cons to different methods of achieving the redirect - most search engines will probably penalize you for meta redirect. JavaScript might be a better choice, but there are possible problems there as well.

Some people would tell you to build landing pages instead of doorway pages, so you don't do redirection at all, just present your user with a ton of opportunities to click through to the offer.

With 40 domains though, I would do some split testing, and see how doorways do vs. landing, vs. . . ?

Most doorway generators use 301 redirects. Well, the ones that I have used, perhaps this is why my doorway pages dont get indexed so often. Thanks for the help :)

Guess I have been using crappy ones then! I cant remember the software I use to use but it created sitemap, made doorway apge generators, site submitter allinone and that used 301 redirects
